Drifting beauty

Frozen snowflakes

Underneath an ashen sky

Soft rain moving like sparkling glass

Playing a rhythm of misunderstood tunes

With wind so light it outlines the air

Portraying a colourless reflection...

The hotel has since closed and this is now "Beaconsfield Heritage Accommodation".

Colour is nothing but but an illusion. One by one. The only one that's coloured is the first.

This is the same sugar shack I photographed in the fall www.flickr.com/photos/195136680@N07/52605550141/in/photos.... A very different atmosphere here with the grey clouds and the colourless trees.

The bridge in the background further upriver is the Cannon Street Railway Bridge.

The water to the left is known as River Walbrook.

The Walbrook is a subterranean river in the City of London that gave its name to the Walbrook City ward and a minor street in its vicinity. The Walbrook is one of many "lost" rivers of London, the most famous of which is the River Fleet.

The pub sits in Hayfield Road where it joins Kingston Road. It faces down Aristotle Lane and is bordered by Polstead Road.

No tweaks to contrast or colour. No anything. Just converted to JPEG from RAW so I could upload it. It just reminds me of how bleak and colourless the woods were that morning in the dense mist. The eerie silence. Fantastic start to a day!! :-)

Taken on an afternoons walk around Highdown Gardens

The original bridge construction dates to 1827 and the current form completed in 1884. It has had cracks appear in the structure and is now closed to all forms of traffic. It is expected to take another six years to remedy the problems.

I did a few bike tours last week and enjoyed having the roads almost to myself. It took double the time I usually need for the distance, but it was lots of fun anyway.

A rather colourless sunrise on Spittal Beach looking towards the end of Berwick Pier
