I had to replace my water heater yesterday, but little did I know that the plumbing wasn't up to code. There should be a horizontal metal bar going between studs, with the two 3/4" pieces of copper fastened to it, to support the piping where it goes through the wall. Because it wasn't supported, when I replaced the piping to the water heater, even though I was holding it with a wrench, it moved enough to cause a leak. You can see the new elbow and short piece of copper that had to be replaced to fix the resultant leak. The only positive thing for the day was my niece's husband, who helped me fix this problem, and get the water heater going. Thank you, Tony!

Got this nice southbound on the IHB with a couple rattle traps. The view does look good from the skybox! Blue Island, IL. on Metra Property.

Quietly ripening in all its treacherous splendor is this year's crop of deadly nightshade. Look, but don't touch - the poison can be absorbed through the skin and will kill you dead. Oddly, bumblebees love the flower nectar and don't seem the worse for it. OM 90mm at f4 or so.

This apparently innocent-looking insect is very destructive in the garden. You may have seen a previous pic that I posted PRIOR to pest control...well, I found this one yesterday. They are quite tough. What a nuisance! Is anyone else having this problem???

This tan beauty is a female nursery web spider (Pisaura mirabilis).

Here she is - quite fittingly - in the nursery web which she has spun for her offspring to hatch and spend their very first time in.

She stays in the web for a while after they have hatched to protect them against predators.

Also, if you look a little closer, just to the right of mama spider, you can see a small black weevil which has wandered into the web and gotten stuck! I didn't notice it when I took the shot, if I had done so, I would have closed in even further on it and maybe manage an ID, but that's too difficult from just this shot.

Part 1 is a little further away and also includes the large bunch of spiderllings here: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/51956730093/

An old and damaged sculpture on the façade of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux Abbey Tower with a pigeon finding the only resting space on top of it...

Collateral damage on my previous attempts at glassware. I shot this shattered cocktail glass against a white background, inverted the result and overlayed it with a colored gradient that I masked on the edges.

Ein Kollateralschaden bei meinen Glasfotos: Das invertierte Bild des gesprungenen Cocktailglases hab ich mit einem Farbigen Verlauf überlagert, den ich entlang der Kante maskiert habe.

Murphy: What happened to your hair and eyepatch?

Gould: Appearances change. What do you see when you look out of these windows?

Murphy: Uhh, Central Tehran?

Gould: I prefer to see it as... collateral damage.

Murphy: So could you tell me what you're actually going to do?

Gould: As a highly recommended Chinese Operative I'd expect you to figure it out yourself.

Murphy: I'm not Chinese. Also, that's racist.

Gould: I might as well explain it myself then. What you can't see right now is a large nuclear device underneath this building. When it is detonated, and I assure you that you won't be anywhere near here when it is, most of Tehran will be destroyed. The use of nuclear weapons will be beyond a doubt. In a few days' time, top secret documents regarding the placement of the device in order to target US Troops will be found on the body of a Chinese agent. Hopefully, the ensuing outrage will cause the two most powerful nations in the world to clash horns with eachother.

Murphy: Why? Why do you want to do something like that?

Gould: I don't know. I kind of want to see what happens.

Murphy: But what about the British soldiers? Aren't you going to bring the UK over to it's knees?

Gould: You're one step ahead of me, you truly are. One of these soldiers, a fellow named Colter-Stevens, has been suspicious for some time. I believe he sent an encrypted message to a Major General a few hours before his untimely demise.

Murphy: Well? How does that help us?

Gould: The message never reached it's intended recipient. His body will be found along with the Agent's. America will shun it's once ally for defecting and plotting against it.

Murphy: Sounds like an excellent plan. Three birds with one stone.

Gould: I'm glad you agree. Now, I just need to find my Chinese agent.

*Gould shoots Murphy in the forehead.*

Gould: Perfect.

The storyline is beginning to wrap up. This is probably going to be the penultimate build. I might have roped in Christian and Philip for Act 3's storyline lel. whoops

Inspired by the indoor scenes of Andreas and Stijn Oom.

This scene is a continuation of this one.

A tree was cut to make way for a gorgeous boardwalk through a cedar swamp near Rice Lake in Marathon county. Worth the sacrifice to walk in this beautiful wood.
