Thinking of the old Drip Beverage Lab, a great coffee house, but one of those that came and gone all to soon.
Hodges Bend, on the corner of 3rd and Lansing in Tulsa is a unique speakeasy type bar that serves alcohol and coffee, along with delicious food.
When I make my own cold brew coffee I usually coarsely grind coffee beans with the old grinder in the picture. Thereafter I mix about 100g with 4dl water and put it in the fridge for 24 hours but occasionally take it out, giving it a stir.
I usually drink it without milk and using homemade large and clear ice cubes in order to get less dilution.
If you want to make large clear ice cubes you fill a hard cooler with water and put it in the freezer. It should be taken out before all of the water is frozen and then you use a knife and a hammer to make ice cubes in the size and form that you want.

Taken for Our Daily Challenge: COFFEE OR TEA, the topic for Sunday, 20 July 2014 (said to have been open through July 27th)
My first attempt at cold-brewing coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker, so hopefully the coffee drinker in the family will like it...cuz it's all his...all 128 ounces of it!
That constant drip of cold brew coffee. Above the drip is a liter of ice melting and dripping on below a cup of coffee grinds or 125 grams, in 24 hours you have a liter of coffee for the fridge, to later pour over a glass of ice and cream.

Top with 1/2 ounce dark rum and garnish with a piece of fresh pineapple.
Step 3
Add spice of your choice...
It would seem this contraption has one job: to cold-brew coffee over the course of 4 hours. What you can't see is the drip-drip-drip of the water coming down on the still-dry little coffee grains. Apparently the brewing process had just begun when I snapped this, explaining why there's nothing yet accumulated.
Last summer I developed a real liking for cold brew… I wonder if I could install one of these at home?
