“I love the smell of socially acceptable chemical dependence in the morning.” - Unknown.
Once we started doing our long road trips a few years ago, we used to love seeing a Tim Horton’s for a pit stop and a coffee. There were so many around that they were easy to find and not far off the beaten path. Their coffee was always hot and did not have that burnt taste from sitting on the burner too long. I collected a few mugs from our earlier road trips to commemorate those times of rushing to our destination because we only had so many days off from work. Now that we are retired, we take the backroads and we bring our own thermos with our preferred Kicking Horse coffee. I love my morning coffee. This week, I got hit hard by COVID and suddenly I am turned off coffee. There is this metallic taste in my mouth that throws off the coffee flavour. Many of you have probably experienced the same thing. Sigh. I think I have another week ahead of me of being sick. I miss my coffee. (This is a blend of two images I took. One of the mug and the other is the “ steam” I photographed separately. Then I added some texturing and a filter for Sliders Sunday). Stay healthy everyone.
Saturday Self Challenge Silver
Needless to say I I was very pleased when the waitress included this silver spoon with the coffee.....and that I had my camera with me at the time.
I have to confess that I'm a little bit of a coffee addict - as witnessed by my photo stream, I share my addiction!! A nice cup of fresh coffee in the morning gets me moving!!

Teddy likes the foam that settles on the sides and bottom of the cup. He sometimes looks deeper into the cup for it.
Happy Caturday.
It’s 93° this afternoon with the heat index at 100, so I thought I would practice a little more with my new Lensbaby indoors. The coffee cup is mostly in-focus and sitting on top of some old sheet music. To the left is a set of ear buds along with the mouthpiece to the old tarnished brass bugle that’s in the background. It may be far from perfect, but I did get some practice in bending the lens.

I have a hard right bend on the lens and it’s tilted slightly up to push the majority of the distortion to the left and down. No macro lens or extension tube was used.

Happy Friday/Weekend, Everyone!
A beautiful sunny golden hour with blue skies.
A perfect moment to enjoy a coffee and a small pastry, which some call "bayonnaise," filled with angel hair filaments.
In the background, you can see the Riaza Town Hall building and the tower of the Nuestra Señora del Manto Church.
Photo taken in the Plaza Mayor of Riaza, Segovia, Spain.
