Kingsburg, Ca.

We've had a cat door for many years, and have had many cats over those years. We've let them come and go as they please and that pleases them. Every now and then some feral cat, or a domestic belonging to a neighbor figures out how to come in. They'll partake of the food and usually depart without incident. This fellow has pretty much made our home his. Sleeps here most nights on that sofa back where this shot is taken. I have managed to catch him (while distracted at the food bowl) on several occasions, and petted him. He doesn't hiss or try to scratch. But he is extremely skittish and if I get within six or seven feet of him, he takes off. He's a nice enough fellow and we just coexist.

The wife says we should name him, but I have decreed that he shall be known as "Grey Cat" until such time as he cozies up to us and earns a real name. I don't think he gives a damn.

I see very few of these birds in Central Oklahoma anymore. Their population has declined sharply in the East due to the house finch. Most of the time, when these two species coexist, the house finch outcompetes the purple finch. This bird has also been displaced from some habitat by the introduced house sparrow. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

The museum of Santa Clara del Cobre will take you back to the Purepecha world, which magically coexists with masterpieces that modern artisans make nowadays in their workshops, from which you can take home beautiful souvenirs. In some workshops, you can even see the people molding and hammering the copper.

I took this photo yesterday morning. One of the biggest bears that I have encountered in a long time. There was no wind but the tree was swaying under the weight, then this big head appeared chewing on nuts I believe. Very heavy because the branches (as you can see) couldn't hold the weight. About 4 metres off the ground. Not sure if male or female but we named it 'One Eye' because the right eye was missing.

As I watch Camille and Gracie Jo learn to coexist on our property, I see scenes like this.

I was photographing Camille, and Gracie Jo was across the street where she used to live. GJ started to move toward me, but she had not noticed that Camille was with me. When she reached the top of the slope Gracie Jo saw Camille; instead of going back or forward, she changed her path and went straight to the tree--like she meant to do that all along. Then she executed a long, leisurely stretch on the trunk of the pecan tree, while Camille watched.

"Amidst the stillness of the lake, where mountains and trees dance in reflection, a lone fishing boat drifts—a gentle reminder that tranquility and life coexist in perfect harmony."

Excerpt from www.gardinermuseum.on.ca/event/linda-rotua-sormin-uncerta...:

Linda Rotua Sormin: Uncertain Ground is the culmination of over 20 years of remarkable exploration and innovation, bringing together clay, sculpture, video, sound, hand-cut watercolour painting, and digital fabrication in a multi-sensory environment that asks how life in the modern, cosmopolitan city can coexist with memories and experiences of our ancestral traditions.

Raised in Canada and Thailand, artist Linda Rotua Sormin has emerged as a leading voice in sculpture with her fearless, monumental structures. Continually pushing clay beyond its limits, Sormin’s web-like forms burst through the boundaries of the medium, literally breaking apart and re-convening in new forms. Colonial artifacts, everyday kitsch, and fragments from the artist’s studio floor dangle and nestle within the latticework.

In her first solo museum exhibition and largest project to date, Sormin delves into her lineage among the Batak people of Sumatra in the Indonesian archipelago, exploring how images and ideas of her ancestors have, sometimes unwittingly, infused her artistic practice. She studied traditional Batak divination books, available to her only in European museum collections, with access strictly controlled, as well as the script and spoken language of her ancestors. Building on her research, Sormin weaves a rich family history of shamanic and other spiritual practices fragmented by colonialism, Christianization, and diaspora.

The exhibition unfolds on three levels: a central raised platform evokes a volcanic lake with an underworld of mythical beasts and coded divination texts; a tangle of precarious ceramic sculptures suggests an earthly middle ground inhabited by humans; and a suspended projection screen references a celestial realm of spirits and birds. The result is an environment that feels alive and in motion, offering audiences an encounter that is both visceral and contemplative.

Casa de la Memoria. Milán. Milano

Porta Nuova Via Confalonieri 14 cv Via de Castillia

Arquitectos baukuh: Pier Paolo Tamburelli y Andrea Zanderig 2012-15

As I walk through the historic district of Lyon, known as Vieux Lyon, my camera captures the mesmerizing beauty of its doors and windows. The architectural marvels that adorn this area are a testament to the city's rich history and cultural heritage.

As I wander deeper into Vieux Lyon, I come across a hidden alleyway with cobblestone pavements. The irregular stones beneath my feet seem to whisper stories of the past, transporting me back to a time when horse-drawn carriages roamed these narrow streets. The sunlight filtering through the buildings casts a warm glow on the ancient stones, creating a magical atmosphere.

One particular photograph captures my attention—a balcony adorned with delicate wrought iron railings. The years have bestowed upon it a graceful decay, where peeling paint reveals the raw beauty of weathered wood. It serves as a testament to the passage of time and the resilience of Lyon's architectural heritage.

As I conclude my photographic journey through Vieux Lyon, I can't help but be drawn to the tantalizing aromas emanating from the nearby Bouchons Lyonnaisse. These traditional Lyon eateries offer culinary delights that perfectly complement the visual feast I have captured through my lens. The fusion of decadent constructions, ancient walls, rustic pavements, and weathered wood with the culinary delights of Lyon's Bouchons creates a harmonious blend of sensory experiences.

Lyon's historic district is truly a treasure trove of architectural wonders, where the delicate beauty of doors and windows harmoniously coexists with the gastronomic pleasures of the city. With my camera as my guide, I have had the privilege to capture a glimpse of Lyon's captivating past and present, forever preserving the allure of this enchanting city.

Many elements of beauty found on this Humboldt County hillside living in perfect harmony. The sights, smells and sound combined with a perfect calmness was something I won't soon forget.

An iconic species, monarchs need mild weed to lay their eggs, they are an iconic pollinator species famous for their migration.

Most are now unfortunately restricted to suburbs and small pockets of milkweeds, so scenes like these are fairly common now.

A reference shot, not something I would normally post but I thought some of you may be interested in seeing some of the variety of waterfowl that I've been photographing lately along this river. In this group there are common mergansers, American black ducks, mallards, a Canada goose and a northern shoveler. Just outside the frame were gadwalls and hooded mergansers.

I've seen some good shots on Flickr of the recent herds of Elephants in Green Park for the CoExistance Art Installation. And although I'd got some shots in passing under overcast skies I wanted to go back and try and get some more. I left it late though and returned on the last day before they disappeared. Children had just broken up from School which didn't help either and the park was filled with families getting one last look of them. Talking to one of the 'guardians' of the elephants the best time to visit was at 7.30am! So I waited at this spot for over an hour and managed to click off a few shots every now and then that were almost people free.
