It's Children In Need Day in 2004 and CHR is running a collection for the BBC Children In Need appeal in the foyer of St Richard's Hospital in Chichester.
The costume is Richard the Lion who is the mascot of St Richard's Hospital. Inside it (I think) is Peter Ruddick.
We set up a mobile studio in the reception area and broadcast live from there using a pair of telephone codecs.
Chichester Hospital Radio will celebrate it's 40th Anniversary in 2012 and this image is part of a collection gathered over the years.
From this archive we can look back and discover many familiar faces that are still with the association, all be it they are a little older, and a few absent friends that are sadly no longer with us.

On the same weekend I visited the NYMR for their gala, I took a day visit to Scarborough and the North Bay miniature Railway, which had a gala to commemorate the 90th birthday of their Hudswell Clarke-built 4-6-2 diesel-steam outline locomotive 'Neptune'. This is a much shorter visit, and I only did a return trip due to wanting to look around Scarborough town as well. Nevertheless, hope you enjoy this shorten'!

Great to see support coming from RED so quickly for FCS 3. Now you can transcode R3D footage to the new ProRes codecs and have a ProRes 4444 sequence for RED footage. Also Color is now updated to export 4k res files at full debayer quality... before this update you could only do half res at 2k.
This is huge for color accuracy: "If youʼre rendering native RED QuickTime media in Final Cut Pro, and your sequence is set to Apple ProRes 4444, then the RED media will be decoded as YʼCbCr image data with 4:4:4 chroma sampling. Apple ProRes RGB or YʼCbCr image data, but always at 4:4:4."
"If youʼre rendering native RED QuickTime media using Color, and the QuickTime
Export Codec of your Project Settings is set to Apple ProRes 4444, then the RED
media will be decoded as RGB image data with 4:4:4 chroma sampling."
