Initially I was blank to get a spooky image... when I found cocunut shell with facial look, I arranged some coconut fibres to give it a spooky look without much preparation....
Hold the Mbira in the palm of both hands and pluck the keys with both thumbs to generate a sound. There are 7 keys, tuned by sliding them back and forward and screwing in position. The instrument is originally from Africa, but has many regional variations, with different baseboards, number of notes etc.
I made this lamp using coconut shell. The experience of taking the coconut jelly out from the shell without damaging the shell was very tricky, but got there in the end. Enjoy!
Because these birds are so timid, took this shot through a double glazed window using a Tamron 28-300mm lens with a polarising filter to counter the reflecting glass.
This collage shows several aspects of our multifunctional RSPB 'Squirrel Proof' Bird Feeder - where varieties of Tits are enjoying their 'Christmas Day Fayre' too.
Pictured top right, on the upper levels, a Great Tit (Parus Major) enjoys the Coconut Shell - suet filled 'Buggy Treat'. Left are
two Blue Tits (Parus caeruleus) feasting on some suet Buggy Nibbles and Peanuts.
Below the open feeder sees four more 'Frenetic' Blue Tits enjoying Sunflower Hearts, Wild Birdseed Mix and more Buggy Nibbles.
Our rear garden in Betws yn Rhos, Conwy, North Wales abuts open countryside. Throughout the day, we are constantly visited by a large selection of wild birds, both large and very small, more so now since the onset of the much colder weather and less available natural food i.e. open fields, hedgerows etc.

Have a good day dear friends! :-)

A Three-Kings tradition: after the tree is taken down, the Christmas coconuts are smashed in the dooryard and given to mendicant squirrels. They spent the week, cleaning the shells out, a little at a time. (I think some bluejays and woodpeckers may have assisted.)
Lights sun powered, with ideas to lamp camp all recuperated, glass, coconut shell. Thanks for the visit

"Kung hei fat choi flickr friends!!!... It's been a long time.
Happy weekend to everyone!!!!
It's been raining here in Northern California for a couple days now so I thought I'd brighten things up with this image of sunny Hawaii. Well, ok that is a lei - I mean lie. Mika is not Hawaiian, the photo was taken in my studio, and the background is from my trip to the Florida Keys... but the illusion is what counts, right?
I guess the only real thing in there is the vintage coconut-bikini-top, passed down to my wife from, get this, her grandmother. Yep. Heirloom coconut-bikini-top.

One of the re-cycled coconut shells now devoid of the suet fat. Threading the shell onto a twig at a nice height to be comfortable for me then filling with seeds it's then a case of sitting back and waiting. All the usual small birds will visit giving a variety of options for the final shot. This one gives the impression of the coal tit taking a bath.

It is so bitterly cold that I have put out extra fat-feeders for the tits, etc.
Water is a problem.....It has to be thawed out frequently.

Not only is she able to catch some sun, but Ashley has decided to give this Marine pilot the surprise of his life when he arrives to take out his Corsair later for a mission... instead of a gal painting on the plane he has a real life nose art pinup!

Despite having the word “nut” in its name, a coconut is a fruit — not a nut. In fact, a coconut falls under a subcategory known as drupes, which are defined as fruits that have an inner flesh and seed surrounded by a hard shell. This includes a variety of fruits, such as peaches, pears, walnuts, and almonds -- Courtesy Healthline
