The Coco Palms is a 40 acre site in Wailua, Kauai. In its heyday the
1950s-1970s, it was THE place to stay on Kauai. It had accommodations
of rooms and cottages, a church, a zoo, a cocktail lounge where
EVERYONE who was ANYONE came, a dining room, shops- you name it. And
if you had too much of the Coco Palms, you could go across to the
beach side of the road and the Sea Shell Snack (and cocktail) Bar and
stay at the Coco Palms Beach House. "Blue Hawaii" was filmed here and
Elvis stayed here many times, as well as Frank Sinatra, Helen Hayes,
Fred MacMurray, Esther Williams and numerous others.
The Coco Palms was unique in that it employed local people in all
capacities, including the entertainers. They wore their own clothes
and took part in all aspects of the Palms. Oft times, one of the
waitresses would be called up to demonstrate the hula, or one of the
waiters, to sing.
The Palms is currently under a development contract and time alone
will tell what will happen to this uniques and historic site.

★ About DJ coco:
Born and raised in Yokohama, Japan, DJ COCO moved to San Jose, California in the summer of 2004. She quickly became an active part of the local art, music, and skateboarding scenes as both a colorful character and a DJ. She has blazed a 10 year long trail through music festivals, underground punk shows, art galleries and even taquerias, spinning her signature mix of J-Pop, soul, French ye-ye, and retrofuturistic chiptune. This will be her second appearance at J-Pop Summit.

Coco was sadly hit by a car and died a week ago. Her amazing energy and adorable face will be missed.
Sovereign Syre's sweet baby, Coco photographed in between working on a new personal photo project of mine with women in the adult film business. I won't release much details on it, but I'm very thrilled to showcase this special project in the near future shining a more honest angle. Coco was absolutely an incredibly lovely dog, full of love and absolutely beyond happy.

Christina and I picked up a "pup" from the SPCA on Sat. We were going to wait until she moved in but this one was too hard to pass up. She plays, she spoons, fully house broken, lays down and sleep for car rides, and the list goes on.
She came with the name Cocoa. Reminded Christina of Coco Chanel and me of Koko B. Ware ;)
