One of the wooden roller coasters of the Hershey Park in Hershey, PA. The park was closed, this photo was at the end of winter last year and I forgot my wide angle lens (not a good photo at all).

Thanks for your visit and taking the time to comment so I can visit your photos, too... very much appreciated! Have a great day!🙋‍♀️

My second keeper of the morning. The Richmond Bridge just keeps giving. Nicknamed the roller coaster span do to the vertical undulation of the center section.

When you have cats you tend to get a lot of cat themed gifts. I knew these wooden coasters would come in handy eventually. For the Smile on Saturday group - theme "Many Identical Objects"

Clockwise:

- The Robin: Adorable best seller.

- The Daisyish Lilly : A soft, classy addition to any dinner

- The black lilly pad: Simple yet cute.

- Circus Wooden Type: Got text? We'll print!

Who would think that anyone would consider putting a Roller Coaster in the Grand Canyon. Regardless I bet that 1st dip is going to be a doozy

Macro Mondays 'puzzle' theme.

This image shows part of a cast metal puzzle by Hanayama, it's their Coaster Puzzle. The idea is to take it apart and put it back together - not so simple as it sounds. This puzzle is level 4 on their difficulty rating.

Straight out of the box this puzzle was shiny and dust free but it attracted dust like a magnet, each photo I took had yet more dust particles visible!

The image measures 1.75" in width.

Here is the whole puzzle.

When you are riding the West Coaster, you better bring the shutter speed!

I really don't like roller coasters, but it does help to know the only people that get hurt on them are the jumpers.

While driving on Highway 12, somewhere between Capitol Reef NP and Kodachrome Basin State Park, USA, I checked the rearview mirror and saw this scene that reminded me somehow of a roller coaster.

Bought new coasters today, love them!

Would u bring the martini glasses?

Coaster is a commuter rail service, it stands for Coast Express Railway, in that case the American west coast is mentioned, a pretty short line between Oceanside and San Diego, trains run pretty often, sometimes 1 train per hour in each direction, sometimes 3 trains per direction. This spot is right after Carlsbad Poinsettia station where Coasters do their stop. Earlier you could have seen F40’s but the NCTD wanted to do a upgrade and have bought the Siemens-built Siemens Chargers which are modern, efficient and better how they’ve thought but if you know what right now happens with the Pacific Surfliner SC-44’s ypu will understand that they aren’t that good.

The scene only appeared for a few seconds and I did miss the peak flock...nevertheless, I hope you still enjoy it. Thank you very much for visiting!

As the temperature hits the mid 20s it's tee-shirt, sun screen and heat haze for this shot of Colas Tug 60056 tackling the roller coaster at Applehurst Junction with old friend 6E32, the 08.55 Preston Lanfina - Lindsey Refinery discharged bitumen tanks.

The hump in the background is where this freight-only route avoiding Doncaster, crosses the ECML.

In Japan Roller Coasters are called "Jet Coasters". No idea why, but seems apt with the movement.

5xp handheld HDR shot taken later in the day (from the previous two shots) at a Motorway theme park in Suzuka, Japan (about an hour South of Nagoya). Left the ghosting on this one, as it works...

The Southern Railway of British Columbia's westbound Abbotsford switcher climbs one of the many small grades in the Mount Lehman area of Abbotsford, BC. This line's roller coaster grade profile, and everpresent parallel pole lines are a not so subtle clue to it's origin as an interurban railway.

The British Columbia Electric Railway was already a thriving interurban operation in the Vancouver suburbs on the north side of the Fraser River when construction of the new 'Fraser Valley Branch' began in 1909. Enabled by the 1904 construction of the Fraser River Bridge by the Federal Government, the Fraser Valley Branch stretched from New Westminster, through the then rural farming communities of Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, and finally Chilliwack. Once opened in 1910, the Fraser Valley Branch boasted a healthy ridership in addition to significant business in transporting milk and other farm products into Vancouver for sale. The last interurban trolley ran in 1958, after which the ownership and control was passed on to the crown electric power corporation 'BC Hydro' who continued freight operations as a short line. BC Hydro leased the freight rights, rolling stock, and track to the American shortline operator Itel in 1988, who in turn sold to the current owner, the Washington Group in 1994.

The two MP15DC powering the train wear the same paint scheme that until recently the other Washington Group rail property, Montana Rail Link also used. Of the 14 cars that the train departed Abbotsford with, 10 were dropped at Gifford, and only 4 covered hoppers remain. These would be left at Sperling for their eastbound counterpart from New Westminster to spot.

While 10,781 foot high Mount Baker soaks up the last sunlight of the day in the background, the dense forest on Mount Lehman has been shading these rails from the sun for hours already.

Dutch coaster Kitty photographed in 1949 (Skyfotos). The ship was built in 1943 by Redpath, Brown & Co. (Glasgow) for the Royal Navy. In 1948 it was converted to a cargo ship. N.V. Rederij `Kitty` (Amsterdam) owned the ship in 1949 - 1954. My colorization of an image in the Maritime Museum of Sweden archive.
