I have another star in my sky, I lost my dearest mother-in-law the first of January. She was a remarkable person, an incredible woman, mother, grandmother and grand grandmother. She will always be in my heart.

In my opinion, few things equal the beauty of fresh fallen snow on fur trees. This picture was taken when we went snowshoeing the day after we had had a big snow fall last January,
Hope you like it.
À mon avis, peu de choses égalent la beauté d'un neige fraîchement tombée sur des sapins. Cette photo a été prise lors d'une sortie en raquettes le lendemain d'une tempête de neige, en janvier dernier.
This year, we don't have any snow yet!

I took this in what has become one of my favorite destinations --Tod's Point in Old Greenwich, CT. It's right on the Long Island Sound. It worked straight out of the camera, but I decided to use Mextures App to enhance this beautiful moment in the day -- late afternoon November.
It was an amazing morning watching the sunrise behind the mountains and heavy clouds at Dead Horse Point State Park Utah !!

South Island, New Zealand. All colors are natural! After a few minutes, they became different and that was another picture.

Gee, the secret rock pools won't be secret if I keep posting them ;)
Just some broader views of these magnificent weed-laden rock pools. So hard to do them justice in a photo though.
Can you see the little boat going past in the background? I had to lay on the ground and pretend I was seaweed by wiggling my fingers and toes about. Didn't want to give the location away, they were probably rock pool spies!

Moeraki Boulders, Otago Coast, South Pacific Ocean, South Island, New Zealand.
The Moeraki Boulders are concretions created by the cementation of the Paleocene mudstone of the Moeraki Formation, from which they have been exhumed by coastal erosion. The main body of the boulders started forming in what was then marine mud, near the surface of the Paleocene sea floor. ...The larger boulders, 2 meters (6.6 ft) in diameter, are estimated to have taken 4 to 5.5 million years to grow. A drop in sea level allowed fresh groundwater to flow through the mudstone enclosing them.
Piallassa della Baiona.
In Ravenna the water exchange system called "piallasse" was designed during the 19th century and spread over 12 canals for the Piallassa della Baiona. The term "piallasse" means a flood of water formed by several basins between them comunicant, extended not far from the sea, with which it remains in direct communication.
For weeks the weather had been terrible hot, and now the pinnacle presented itself as if the earth was about to scorch.
Suddenly there was no wind and only a few slow waves brought any movement to the boat.
It was as if clouds of steam were being chased towards the sea, and they had a menacing appearance like the steam of a runaway gigantic steam locomotive.
From far you could hear the roar of thunder in the lonely mountains........
A beautiful ominous natural spectacle that makes the hair stand on end.
It didn't bode well........
