The skies were not clear in this cloudy day.

I went shooting downtown the other day to try to get some architectural shots. It's something I'd like to get better at and I figure that practice will hopefully do that.

At 62 floors, the Shangri La Hotel is the tallest building in Vancouver and in the province.

BTW, I didn't convert this to black and white. It was a grey day and the colours are exactly as they were in my original shot :)

Zoom in and take a look :)

Mellow music kinda day - and I'm dreaming of being anywhere but behind a desk!

Come Away with Me in the night

Come away with me

And I will write you a song

Come away with me on a bus

Come away where they can't tempt us, with their lies

And I want to walk with you

On a cloudy day

In fields where the yellow grass grows knee-high

So won't you try to come

Come away with me and we'll kiss

On a mountaintop

Come away with me

And I'll never stop loving you

And I want to wake up with the rain

Falling on a tin roof

While I'm safe there in your arms

So all I ask is for you

To come away with me in the night

Come away with me

I returned to the tiny town that I stopped by two years ago, snapped some abandoned houses and church, but decided not to share since most of them are not worth to show; and for whatever reason I missed their schoolhouse the first time. And this time, I did not. I noticed they added a new roof on this schoolhouse; not impressed, really, LOL!

Matricaria chamomilla is an annual plant, according to Wikipedia. And it is a relative of ragweed. Oh, joy.

A tiny percent of rain —and lack of wind—drew me outside to photograph wild daisies of some sort. Borrowed my husband's Nikkor 200mm macro/prime lens and rested it on the trusty monopod. On my knees shot.

I know, based on my husband’s reaction, that this will appear too shallow for many. Don’t worry; I don’t expect you to comment ;-)

Many thanks for your visits, faves and comments. Cheers.

So thrilled to discover this schoolhouse. It was a beautiful day to drive and took some snapshots of the abandoned places.

FTb Canon with 50mm lens. Fuel truck travelling north to a Diamond mine site in the Northwest Territories Canada. The road is built across lakes, rivers and land that takes about 18 hours to drive. The photo here is on Gordon Lake and the ice is over 2 meters thick.

Love to watch them 💘

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." - Albert Camus

A play on the word beautiful as we drove to bude one windy morning. The wind blew sand across from the dunes hitting us full in the face. Jonathan got sand in his eyes and a while before he could drive after it and had to use our flask of water and the cup to wash his eye the best he could. We did get a little walk near the chalets and went onto the high street to buy yet another cornish pasty - as you do when on holiday in Cornwall...and I took a few photos but impossible to walk the beach. The strength of the wind was tremendous so would not dare walk a cliff edge that day...

I decided on a diptych instead of two seperate square crops but jonathan just told me it looks odd to him -alack alas after going

to the trouble to make it I shall leave it to stand or fall....
