Gioco.
C'è un gioco
Che mi riporta
Ai sogni di bambino.
Guardare le nubi passare
Indovinandone le forme.
Ecco il profilo di un gabbiano,
ad ali spiegate.
Quello invece è un drago,
lo riconosci dalla lingua di fuoco.
E più avanti,
il volto di un mago
dalla lunga barba bianca.
In quelle nubi,
in quei sogni,
in quell'attesa,
ho costruito
lentamente
un'immagine,
cristallizzandola,
che esprime
il volo libero
della mia anima.
Meraviglioso,
è riconoscerla oggi
nel profondo
dei tuoi occhi,
nella nuvola grande
tracciata dai tuoi capelli,
nelle tue mani,
che disegnano forme nuove
nel loro gioco
sfiorando la mia pelle.
I caught up with a friend over the weekend and was telling her about my trip - and she made a comment saying the US was beautiful but not much history. I then proceeded to tell her about the Pueblo people, the native americans, the spanish and then even further back the dinosaurs. At Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, where Georgia O' Keefe lived for many years, is now one of the most important paleonthology sites in the Northern Hemisphere. I saw there, in this teeny museum, some of the oldest dinosaur bones ever found - from 220 million years ago - I get dizzy even thinking about it. The Ranch is now run by a religious organisation and apparently Georgia was not happy when she heard that they had bought it ;).
The best part of the day, when you're in the mountains, is early in the morning. The sun is rising and casting a soft pink glow upon the thick sleepy clouds, which have settled themselves upon the mountain to rest upon its blankets of trees.
The clouds were constantly changing and creating some weird patterns. I also thought it was not cold enough for there to be ice on Lost lagoon, but I was wrong.
Hope everyone east of the Rocky mountains can survive your big blast of winter.
