A windy and cloudy day over Lake Michigan. Very common this time of year. A circular polarizer was used to bring out the clouds.
The sky tonight from the hills near my home ... looking west to the setting sun, an almost full moon in the east ... then later as the sky darkened, Venus and Sirius shone brightly amongst the constellations .... and here we are on Earth silently dreaming ... a part of it all ....
This cloud settles in the valley overnight. Then during the morning it slowly rises.
You would think you can walk on it !!
On Monday, during my lunch break, the weather was cool and very windy, with some of the most amazing autumn clouds that I've seen in some time. Trying to decide how to get a good picture, I crouched low behind a row of decorative grass in order to hide a large parking lot full of cars. Large factory buildings were cut off just outside the edges of the photo. Not quite wilderness, but a good substitute :) Oct 04, 2010 L1140148.dng
