The White Angled Sulphur or Ghost Tropical Brimestone,
Anteos clorinde, is a representative of a genus of
fast‐flying pierid butterflies that have undersides that
are good examples of leaf‐mimicking camouflage. The
adults are avid flower feeders and travel great distances.
This species will occasionally migrate north from
the tropics and end up as strays here in the Dallas area.
The caterpillars feed on Senna spectabilis. Species in the genus Phoebis are called Giant Sulphurs, and like Anteos are fast and wary. We often get the Cloudless Sulphur (Ph. sennae) and Orange‐barred Sulphur
(Ph. philea) and they prefer red and pink flowers
to nectar on. Like the angled sulphurs the caterpillars
feed on Senna and Cassia sp. Male sulphurs butterflies
have a very agreeable perfume scent produced by androconial
scales on the forwings.

Cloudless Sulphur: Usually pale green and marked by a yellow stripe on each side and black spots in rows across each abdominal segment. Here is a yellow form that occurs when it feeds on yellow flowers of its host plants. The later instars of this yellow form have a dark transverse band across each segment. (bugguide.net)

「掃晴娘」
媽媽你看，好大隻的晴天娃娃。
--
又是雨天，
陽明山上的星期一總是會下雨。
我坐在沙發上，看著落地窗外的晴天娃娃，
雨只是不停的打在玻璃上。
滴答，滴答，唏哩嘩啦。
叮咚。
叮咚?
原來是阿陽按的門鈴聲。
他手上還拿了頂我托他網購的
Marushin全罩安全帽。
只是他表情有些奇怪，
沒有說話，凸著兩顆金魚眼，死盯著落地窗外的
那只晴天娃娃。
要說到我跟阿陽怎麼認識的，
我曾經在機車行打工，
阿陽十分喜愛改裝機車，
他總是穿著鮮紅色的騎士裝，
騎著他那台鮮紅的越野摩托車。
不管是不是下雨，他都不穿雨衣。
他說他害怕雨衣，
他害怕那種全身被包覆的感覺，
那使他發毛，那使他噁心。
我只能說他是個怪人。
他是個個性溫和又孤僻的人，
他的說話對象常常是那台機車。
曾經有幾個同學撂狠話，
放學後要蓋布袋扁他。
那幾個同學隔天在工地的帆布下發現，
全部死於窒息意外。
"我可以進去坐一下吧 我全身溼了"
阿陽冷冷的說。
我不好意思的請阿陽進去。
只是他那雙眼睛還是死盯著晴天娃娃。
那壓迫感讓我想吐。
"安全帽給我看看吧"
我順手丟了大被單給他擦，丟到了他頭上。
不小心，丟到了他頭上。
大被單順勢滑下，
蓋住了他的頭，蓋住了他的上半身。
一個大被單覆蓋的人形開始劇烈的扭動...抖動...
那有如咒怨裡伽耶子非人類的詭異扭轉，
令人頭皮發麻。
我嚇得趕緊將大毛巾拉開，
阿陽突然停了下來，沒有了呼吸，
我抓起話筒打著電話求救。
這時阿陽張開眼，
瞪著落地窗外的晴天娃娃，詭異的微笑。
他轉過頭來，發出我從沒有聽過的聲音。
相信我，那不是人類所能發出來的。
他一手抓的大毛巾，一手抓的安全帽，
向我撲了過來，用盡各種發式想殺死我。
一下子用毛巾勒我悶我，一下子用安全帽敲我。
遮騰了一陣子，我才擺平他。
我幫他戴上那頂Marushin全罩安全帽，
披上白色的大被單。
我把落地窗外淋濕的晴天娃娃換下。
換上一只，更大隻的。

Weather update:
Despite the clear, sunny conditions this day, a low pressure trough and frontal system was approaching the coast. Clouds were to increase with rain overspreading over all of Northern California overnight and into Sunday morning. This was a cold storm so snow levels were to drop to around 5000 feet by Sunday morning. Gusty winds were to precede this system. This was a fast-moving system so the precipitation was forecast to end by Sunday evening. Then by Monday night and Tuesday, another frontal system was to bring a chance of showers north of Redding, CA. This system was too far north so no rainfall was expected to fall in our neck of the woods. However, gusty northwesterly winds were expected, due to a low pressure area situated to the east and a high pressure area towards the west over the Pacific.
The Cloudless Sulphur (Phoebis sennae) is a small to midsized butterfly in the family Pieridae, found in the New World.
going out to chicago for the weekend - got a couple of days and want to shoot something other then the bean. anybody got any leads on interesting neighborhoods? also want to check out the street art scene, so tips on that front would be appreciated as well.

I had a difficult time processing this one. The lack of clouds and the auto-lightmetering made the sky rather blown and the rocks too dark. But I think I finally arrived at something reasonable after turning enough knobs on lightroom 3...

BTW, Sicklepod is one of the Sennas that serve as a host plant (larval food source)
This is one of the butterflies in the mud. They don't usually sit this still.

I was disappointed that we had no dramatic clouds on the evening to take my "World's Monthly Sunset" shot. I sort of like it now with just the color and silhouettes. I guess it's true that sometimes "less is more".
The leaves were colorful but the sky was cloudless which didn't make for the best landscape scene. Mother nature had her own plans for the day and I was just a by stander.
