C'è una frase di Paulo Coelho che dice: "I tramonti più belli hanno bisogno di cieli nuvolosi."

Probabilmente è vero, ma talvolta basta poco per creare una bella atmosfera.

Summer time on the Pacific Coast. Missing the clouds but really enjoyed exploring this beach with scattered rocks below the crumbling bluffs. Low tide at Westport Union Landing State Beach. Northern California U.S.A.

Their range is wide, from South America to southern Canada, in particular southwestern Ontario. They are most common from Argentina to southern Texas, Georgia, and Florida, but are often visitors outside this range becoming more rare further north.

No clouds on a fall morning. The Rip Van Winkle Bridge spanning across the Hudson River towards Catskill, Ny and the Catskill Mountains.

Missed the best light because I fell in a hole. After going home I ended up going to the hospital and had damaged the tendons in my left foot. 6 weeks of sitting on my butt. Well, mostly 6 weeks of my wife yelling at me because I kept sneaking out the door with my camera bag 😁😁😁 Never waited the 6 weeks, felt better after 2.

Actually I’m stretching the truth as there were clouds around, just that there were vast swathes of clear blue sky in the Brecon Beacons, Pen y Fan was beautiful

3 butterflies visited my flowers yesterday: this female sulphur all day, a Long-tailed skipper and a Gulf fritillary. North Georgia yard

Sunday prayers: Luke 18:8

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

I think this is a Cloudless Sulphur. But I am open to suggestions.

Cloudless Sulphur (correct me if I'm wrong please) on Zinnia in my butterfly garden

Lots of butterflies in the Georgia mountains yesterday - on a perfect sunny day in the low 80's. Most common were these big sulphurs + numerous Monarchs flying over our car and visiting flowers. We have 2 Monarchs in our flowers at home right now (10-12-19) - as their Big Wave continues.

From an evening trek along Worthing beach as it got darker .

Cloudless skies and sunshine greet the Southern Belle as it rolls north on the Heavener Subdivision past a group of grazing cows near Marble City, Oklahoma. The train is beginning the final leg of its tour of the KCS North-South mainline which began three days before in Laredo, Texas and will finish when the train arrives the railroad's namesake city later in the day.

A cloudless early morning with Crooked River curling around the western edge of Smith Rock.

Far away are 3 snow-covered volcanoes of the Cascade Range: Broken Top, South Sister and Mt. Jefferson.

"The naming of Smith Rock is the subject of debate. One popular interpretation suggests that it was named after Private Volk Smith, a U.S. Cavalry soldier who fell to his death there during a battle with the Northern Paiute in 1863. Alternatively, Smith Rock may have been named in honor of John Smith, Linn County sheriff (1855-1859), Oregon state legislator (1862), and Indian agent to the Warm Springs Indian Agency (1866-1886). An August 10, 1867, letter in the Albany States Rights Democrat, from members of an expedition over Santiam Pass to present-day Prineville, describes the conspicuous formation of Smith Rock and claims that the landmark was named for its discoverer, John Smith."

In yard butterflies species continue to lag behind past years. To date I saw more species in yard in January than any other month in 2021. Lucky for me the hummingbirds have filled that empty void. San Diego County, CA.

Another shot taken at Turimetta Beach in NSW a few minutes before sunrise. I don't often shoot landscape in vertical orientation but I thought it would work out just fine for this. Would have been great to see some cloud formation but pretty obvious that it was a cloudless morning.

I will be gone again for a few days as I will be on a trip overseas for a week. Will visit your streams whenever possible. Enjoy the rest of the week everyone and thanks for visiting my stream!

The Cloudless Sulphur Butterfly is a species of medium-sized, bright yellow butterflies that are spread across a large area covering the two Americas, in three different subspecies.

Our latest emergence. He showed up on a rare rainy day here in San Diego County, CA.

To brighten your day (rainy here in ATL) here's a big male sulphur in purple wildflowers (aka false foxglove) at the wetlands, North Georgia. I hope this season brings you all of your favorite photo subjects and good health - Happy New Year!

A cloudless sulfur perched atop a prickly perch. I showed this photo to my sister and told her it was called a cloudless sulfur. Her response was, "Who names these things? 'Cloudless Sulfur' just doesn't sit right in the nose". She's got a point. But they are pretty cool looking IMO.
