The last section of the trail had been washed away by mudslides and not fully repaired, so we took a van for a 30-minute drive into Lucmabamba. The dirt road wasn't in great shape either though. It was extremely bumpy and crossed several waterfalls like this one. (i.e. This is a photo of part of the road).
