Imbabura Tree Frog

ok... so this image is of one of the waterfalls at mindo. The panoramic kinda stitched wrong but I think its interesting. We are standing on a platform about 7 meters out of the water. Its close to a 3 story jump, you can see a platform on the otherside of the river, its pretty much the same hieght. Because of the nature of this image... its hard to tell how high it was. I've done higher so it wasn't that bad of a jump, but the cool part was jumping into a waterfall, because the water really can push your body around. I'm the only one who hit bottom, but just barely, but I'm kinda glad I did, because the other two had a hard time getting their heads out of the water. The current of the waterfall really pulls you under. Ali's second jump was a little scary because she didn't come up for about 5 seconds, so we decided to quite there. Overall this was one of the highlights of my trip (exploring and jumping all the waterfalls in mindo).

Long Wattled Umbrella Bird

Looks like a tiny upside-down frog, Help please...

The cloudforest at Caripe in northeastern Venezuela. A surprisingly beautiful area. It doesn't rain a lot, but every night the mountains are shrouded by clouds, which feeds a very humid forest.

A highlight in this area are the caves where the oilbirds live. Very impressive!

Una delicada copa... solo lo he visto sobre troncos en descomposición en lugares muy húmedos.
