Posting this as an antidote to the current rubbish grey skies!
I've been after this shot for a couple of weeks now, having seen a couple of shots by Iain, a contact of mine of some of the fields up in Northumberland.
My first shoot was a bust (didn't find any suitable fields) and on my second shoot the weather was good but I didn't manage to get what I wanted. Fortunately, last night was perfect (fluffy clouds and light wind) and I finally worked out the right combination of settings (-1ev exposure on the fields) to get what I wanted.

I hope your Tuesday has had bright skies, my Flickr friends! Thanks for stopping by and sharing!
After sitting with the idea all day I finally decided to switch cloud pictures and make this one the main one and the early morning shot secondary. I really like the dynamic diagonal lines of clouds
in this image, and, yes, Gillian and hcorper, the bright blue sky. In the early morning image I do like the soft lavenders and pinks, and the sense of serenity. Not an easy decision! I hope no one's too confused by what I've done!
I made a small mistake and inserted one segment twice. Bandwidth is scarce here, so I'm leaving it as is.
The cloud rolled in today mid morning and was pretty cool. This paddock of barley desperately needs some rain, I reckon 5 to 10 days and it is done.
2007 Door County...
Looing back at Washington Island on the ferry, I see this big, beautiful cloud hanging so low over the island!
Looking over the bay from Palma Nova, seen these clouds suspended there... These were the first clouds we'd seen for a week
this just happened... I looked out the window of my house, saw the clouds, hauled ass to the beach and snapped this moment. I wish I was there about 15 minutes earlier and had my wide angle lens on me!
Sorry for the back to back sunset postings... but when you live in a town like this, what can you expect?
