We had just been in a snow flurry and then when we were on HWY 395 it was awesome to look back at the clouds that had caused it.
The best part of the day, when you're in the mountains, is early in the morning. The sun is rising and casting a soft pink glow upon the thick sleepy clouds, which have settled themselves upon the mountain to rest upon its blankets of trees.
The Large Magellanic Cloud, or LMC, is a satellite galaxy to our Milky Way. At about 163,000 light years away. The large red section to the lower right is the Tarantula Nebula, the most active star forming region in the Local Group.
