NGC 55, barred irregular galaxy in constellation Sculptor. Distance about 7 million light years.

The 'mayi buddis' we used to blow, and then run after.....Didn't know then that i'd be running after them with a camera later in life :p

Aanval van wesp op vlieg. Hier heeft de wesp de vlieg juist te pakken en houd haar pootjes boven de vleugels zodat ze niet kan wegvliegen. Ondertussen spuit ze verdoving in de vlieg. Dit is de eerste foto van de 2.
I just received as a gift the Canon 500D closeup lens. To see how well it works I decided to do a head to head comparison with the Quantaray +2 closeup lens. As you can see the Canon is much crisper lens and has far less chromatic distortion in the image.
Testing the close limits of the "macro" function. My fingers were only a few inches in front of the lens.

Closeup of all that remains of a village destroyed by the Lupindo mud volcano created by incompetent oil drilling near Surabaya, Indonesia. Apparently the mud is 18 meters deep with new mud spewing out of the earth at a rate of 1 cubic meter per second and is estimated that it will take up to a hundred years for it to stop. No wonder there's so much begging in East Java...
