A closeup on those trees, shot with Sony a6000 and 35mm lens. I’m noticing a lot when I shoot with Sony and iPhone that the colors come out significantly differently on the two, and no matter how much I fiddle with the colors panel in LR I often cannot reconcile them. Any thoughts on that? (Maybe a polarizer would have helped the foliage colors, but wouldn’t it also have killed the reflection in the water? I didn’t think to experiment with it at the time.)

Finally got back out to do some social distancing behind the lens at Stanley Park...a quick walk from my place. It's been a long 3.5 years since I've been out. Glad I did...I've got so many new photos of this guy.

So, it has become apparent to me that my computer sucks.... Still fun trying - Special thanks to Anya Ohmai's youtube for the wonderful tips for photography... I hope I can eventually get nice shots worth looking at.

The Crazy Tuesday theme is A crazy macro/closeup.

What plant is this? Growing on a rock within a wet bog environment in North Alabama, DeSoto State Park. About one inch tall.

Have a great Sunday!

A hummingbird closeup, shot with Sony RX100M5. Look at the detail of its feathers! This camera doesn’t have much of a zoom, so it was quite close to the bird. Can you guess how I got so close without scaring it away? I used Sony's remote app to run the camera through my phone, while I chilled out far enough away to avoid scaring the birds. See the behind the scenes photo after this one.

The remote app is oddly inconsistent with features on different cameras. On my a6000 it won't do burst mode, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that on the RX100M5 I can do high speed bursts through the remote app. Now if only they had a motion detect app (I miss that chdk script...)

It’s hard to identify hummingbird species, especially when they aren’t the most obvious adult male coloring. Using the app Merlin Bird ID, I think this might be an Anna’s Hummingbird but either an immature male or a female. Those two little spots of red make me wonder if its an immature male whose red head coloring is just starting to come in?
