I found this quaint little creature, I think what we call an elephant weevil (Orthorhinus cylindrirostrus), in my Gold Coast hinterland garden where I was removing dying lilly pilly trees. I am not sure of its correct identity.
when the landscape doesn't offer much, look for closer things. Just enjoying the camera on this day.
Creo que es M. phoebe. Mariposa perteneciente a la familia Nymphalidae y que se puede ver volar entre mayo y agosto.

Okay my hubby got me a dozen different colored tea roses last week..... that is more than enough to drive a macromaniac INSANE!!!!! LOL.... They were gorgeous... of course... they only lasted a week.. even with the sugar in the water... oh well... I have pics that will last forever! View LARGE for an even better closeup of the details!
