started to put interesting packaging left over from products on my fridge. brightens up my ikea room :)

logo for the soil-powered light I am developing for ID studio. the logo is derived from a cross of a nuclear waste icon, a power on/off button, and a leaf. See it?

This is a sketch about swedish houses called "torvtak". They are houses with layers of grass (or hay) on their roofs for insulation. This really inspired my soil-powered light concept. What if we could electrically hook up the lights in our home to a plant-battery on the roof? whoa.

Gettin ready for that 15 hr flight.

closed loop final logo (for now at least...)

a cluster of LEDs and glass diffusers. they help make the "spotlight" that comes from LEDs and make it softer and more usable (and ambient, perhaps).

The weird look on my face is from being in that air condition hall without A/C for 3 hours. I was happy, I swear!

Closed Loop Park

 

Closed Loop Park began with a grant obtained by the Thurston County Solid Waste Department to educate residents about “closing the loop” on recycling. Landscape designer, Kathleen Wadden was hired and under her leadership the project took shape. A 60 ml plastic liner was placed over the landfill, followed by two feet of fill, and a thick layer of mulch was added when planting began. The garden is about 2 acres in size located within the Water and Recovery Center.
