She is as beautiful as the sun, a good counterpart to Sophie, who, to me is more lunar.

Ink fills the crevaces of a lithographic engraving detail on a carrera marble stone. To the left small bubbles of hydrogen, leftovers from etching with nitric acid, can be seen.

Shot with a smartphone camera through a loupe magnifier, the photo is just a single frame of a video depicting a unique photosensitive lithography process. The process itself is akin to the 19th century photography with its use of albumen and ammonium dichromate and a darkroom. UV light is used for irradiating the photosensitive material creating a magical setting in the darkroom, all of which can be seen in the video: youtu.be/O9iJQZbuXnI (the frame in the photo can be seen around 3:20).

So many of us have been there. We wait for a take off, and they go the other way leaving us with shots of feet and bird bums. But, sometimes they decide to fly right by you and treat the photographer to a real close encounter. I couldn't pull back fast enough to get the bird all the way in frame, but I was excited about the close up.

This gets the adrenaline going when you have an expensive camera in your hand and shooting on a 20mm so it's actually a lot closer than it looks.

It's always tricky getting that classic ten past ten shot. Miss it and it's twelve hours before you can try again, and who has that kind of time to spend on a photograph?
