It was a close call at CP B274 as the rear of a westbound manifest train barely cleared the crossing in time for an eastbound road switcher with arguably one of the best leaders of the trip.
The final of this series of my birthday tulips, close as I can get myself to come to the original,

Addie Loo peeking out my nieces' dollhouse. Had to get a close up version cuz her eyes looked so amazing! Played with color a bit too for a softer feel.
True beauty lies not in distance
But in the quiet details up close

Ormai quando guardo la luna al telescopio non riesco a non viaggiare con la fantasia... e anche se tutti quei crateri, quelle valli, quelle distese di sabbia e selenite hanno dei nomi precisi, io so solo che la luna continua a farmi sognare. Sempre
Buona serata

Just Close up of a Woodpecker at the outskirts of Bengaluru in Karnataka, South India. (C)H.K.Rajashekar.
There is a point when a person is canoeing and taking photo that a transition has to be made between the two because holding the camera with the large lens on it and doing the paddling at the same time is impossible! Some birds even when they are not hunting are rather casual about close encounters as was this young Yellow-crown! If I reach for the paddle...I scare him off...if I don't reach for the paddle I hit the branch that he's perched on! I had to reach for the paddle and the movement frightened him away! Maybe he flew off to a place to find a tasty treat!! Taken where Horsepen bayou joins Mud Lake!

To cap our Sinulog Saturday, we proceeded to the SM Mall, had dinner with old flickr friends Maning and Tet and at 8PM, we all went up to the SM roof deck to watch the 1st Sinulog Pyrotechnics Competition.
As pyrotechnics go, I’ve seen more impressive fireworks but then, I really wasn’t expecting anything grand, what with the current economic crunch...

This German Navy Lynx, 83+02, came close by the crowd showing its attractive special markings.
It's always a delight to see a Lynx in the air, and I believe the German ones could be retired in 2025.

There are two yards at the Coors Brewery in Golden. Inbound trains head to one yard or the other at Terrill Jct. Today's train is heading for the south yard, so it took a left turn at Terrill Jct and paralleled Eldridge Road before crossing over CO-58.

My eye close up.
Wow again...over 28,000 views of my photos in the past 24 hours (7/22/2014), with most being of this picture. Thank you!
Wow! There have been over 80,000 views in the past 48 hours (10/19 to 10/20/2013)! Thanks to all who Liked, Shared, and Viewed it!
Picture Notes: Taken with three macro lenses stacked on a zoom lens on a Canon 40D.
Strobist info: I used a Canon Speedlite 430EX (with a Sto-Fen Omnibounce diffuser) tethered to the camera with a Canon OC-E3 Off-Camera Shoe Cord. I handheld the Speedlite in front of my eye on the side of lens. Unfortunately, due to the very shallow depth of field with the macro lenses, I had to take a number of pictures to get this one...temporarily blinding myself.

Neyahala asked for a closeup, and who am I to deny? <3
This was the first faceup where I used acrylics for the eyebrows. Sorta afraid to re-do it in case I fuck it up, lol. Scar is the old PVA glue trick. His face was modded for the eyes to be more open and even, have a proper dip in the top lip, as well as slight nose-sanding. I like how Souldolls have pretty well-proportioned necks, actually (in terms of width).

Viewing "Tulips" from various angles and distances. The artist Jeff Koons completed five different versions of Tulips between 1995-2004.
Jeff Koon's works are both modern and popular. He says that his art contains no hidden meanings.
'Tulips' is one of the first pieces you see when you enter the viewing galleries of The Broad and always draws my attention.
