This is the clock tower in the center of town. It's a great meeting place, because the area around it is filled with benches and pretty flower boxes.
We went to Wakehurst place to see the big christmas tree being lit up it is meant to be the largest christmas tree in England www.kew.org/about-kew/press.

The Clocktower on the Market Estate, Barnsbury, London seen in 1991. This was used as a watchtower by the owners of the Metropolitan Cattle Market to oversee the activities of traders.
I've actually been to the top of this tower; it's not an experience I'm anxious to repeat.
Inside the Daniels & Fisher Clocktower for "Doors Open Denver" weekend... this was the very top floor and there is a spiral staircase in the background here but we were not allowed to go up... boo!
And of course, like most rooms with a staircase there was a chandelier... for that homey touch :)
Still tough to tell what time it was despite being inside a clocktower...

Hanko, is a small port city, population about 8000, on the south west coast.
Spokane's Riverfront Park Clock tower. Originally part of the Burlington Northern train station in Spokane, the clock tower was saved when they demolished the train station for Expo 74.
One of the entrances to the Kremlin on Moscow's Red Square. Note the Soviet-era red star on top of the spire. At the time of my visit, these were gradually being replaced by gold double-headed eagles, thus restoring the Kremlin walls to their pre-1917 appearance.

If you tell people "it's by the clocktower" they have no idea what you're talking about. I think the sundial 3 blocks away is more well-known.
