So I took these shots a while back. I've been a bit busy lately due to getting some sewing projects finished up for a con that's coming up extremely quickly! Thus, you get the shots I haven't uploaded yet. *sheepish*
Dawson is obsessed with old things. (Well, old for him anyways.) He likes books and clocks the best, so his tower is littered with them. Right now, he's reading Grimm's Fairytales. lol
Pardon the gray walls down below. I hadn't started working on floor 1 at the point these shots were taken. Now it looks pretty. haha And I'll do my best to get some shots of that floor up in the next couple days.

According to the inscription at the base of the tower, it was erected in the years 1882 - 87 in "honor" [sic] of Sir George Cooper, the first Lieutenant Governor of the United Provinces of Oudh etc.
The clocktower is reputed to be the tallest in India at 67 metres.
At the time of my visit it was not possible for visitors to ascend the clocktower.
The clocktower stands at the intersection of Francis Rachel Street and Independence Avenue. It is a replica of the one on Vauxhall Bridge Road in London. As the clock was being unloaded the pendulum fell into the water and was never recovered. A new one was made but the clock never chimed until the mechanism was replaced as a millenium treat!
