So I am asked, "What's the picture of the clock for? Are you creating some sort of documentary of your life?" My response, "Yeah, something like that I suppose." Sheesh, I always thought I was just a simple camera nut, the question got me thinking, "just what is the goal here?"

Shot for Active Assignment Weekly, the monthly theme "Outdoor Clocks".
A fun assignment that learned me to look for something that I was not aware of. Also, I learned that we do not have really beautiful clocks in my part of the world, or at least not to my knowledge. It is the environment that makes them interesting.

This Clock was made to replace a similar one which was stolen a few years ago. I took some product shots of it and I will say that it looks 10 times more badass than the old one!

The Louisville Clock (often called the Derby Clock) is a 40-foot (12 m) high ornamental clock once located on Fourth Street in Louisville, Kentucky. It was designed in the appearance like a gigantic wind-up toy, incorporating themes of Kentucky culture, especially the Kentucky Derby horse race. Eight ornamental columns support an elevated 5-lane race track. At noon each day, a bugle announced the beginning of a race between five hand-carved statues of figures with local significance: George Rogers Clark, Daniel Boone, Thomas Jefferson, King Louis XVI of France, and the Belle of Louisville.[1][3] Several mechanized sculptures of notable past Louisvillians watched from above in a Victorian-esque gazebo: Mary Anderson, D.W. Griffith, Zachary Taylor, Henry Watterson, and Oliver Cooke.

The Fob watch, designed by Seiko, was given as a gift to the people of Melbourne. The watch has a twelve and a half metre, two tonne chain, which was taken down during the centre's refurbishment and has since not been re-attached. Every hour, on the hour, a marionette display drops down from the bottom of the watch with Australian galahs, cockatoos and two minstrels performing Waltzing Matilda, under the watchful gaze of some koalas. The clock now has the addition of a battery-backed DS3231 I2C RTC chip, so it can keep the right current time while the power is off.
However, with no buttons to use as inputs, the only way to set the time at the moment is to remove the RTC chip from the breadboard and connect it to something like a Buspirate.
