A 13th century marvel.... was framed at the Konark sun temple, associated with twelve pairs of gigantic wheels. This chariot wheel is actually a clock. Yes, you can precisely calculate the exact time of the day from the shadow of your finger only, using the sundial. It's difficult explaining this amazing technique here but still pretty interesting and accurate.
In effect, it functions in anti-clockwise direction. Major spokes, minor spokes along with small beads in between, all are the part of this whole technique.
Brilliant architecture !!!!

This clock would many advantages while one is sitting in the garden, Ie, time to get dinner underway ... Too much to do, can't sit out here all day ... Time to pick the kids up from school ... Time to put the kettle on (again) ... This crossword's taking ages to finish.
The list goes on.
But it does make a nice garden feature.
“When I do count the clock that tells the time,
And see the brave day sunk in hideous night;
When I behold the violet past prime,
And sable curls all silver'd o'er with white;
When lofty trees I see barren of leaves
Which erst from heat did canopy the herd,
And summer's green all girded up in sheaves
Borne on the bier with white and bristly beard,
Then of thy beauty do I question make,
That thou among the wastes of time must go,
Since sweets and beauties do themselves forsake
And die as fast as they see others grow;
And nothing 'gainst Time's scythe can make defence
Save breed, to brave him when he takes thee hence.”

Fade Away by Cica Ghost:
Located at the end of the beautiful promenade in La Rochelle, France is the "Great ClocK" (Porte de la Gros-Horloge), which is the gateway to the old town. It has a 12th century base and an octagonal Bell Tower original built in 1478 but rebuilt in 1746. Taken from across the Vieux Port.
The famous clocks at Canary Wharf from a recent visit by Caroline and myself to London.
We took loads of pictures having the time to review them is quite challenging time wise.
