Sorry about all the dandelion shots ... lockdown means still lifes, or garden shots, or ... still lifes in the garden!!! Yesterday, I was experimenting with different manual focus lenses ... hence all the dandelion shots.

Excerpt from the plaque:
Clocks made in Europe and China were popular at the Qing imperial court. The Kangxi Emperor enjoys european chiming clocks, which help him deal with government affairs more efficiently. Novel and luxurious timepieces with features such as automata or music adorned many interiors in the Forbidden City.
This clock sits atop the Mermaid Quay leisure and entertainment complex in Cardiff Bay.
It commemorates Ernest Thompson Willows, a local aviation and airship pioneer who built his first airship in 1905, aged just 19.
His early pioneering exploits resulted in Ernest becoming the first person in Britain to hold a pilot's licence for an airship when the Royal Aero Club awarded him Airship Pilots Certificate No. 1.
The clock is modelled on the early aero engine that would have powered Ernest's airships.

I was out near the White Rock pier this afternoon. I didn't realize that they had a free-standing clock there...

The famous “Binns Clock” on the corner of Princes Street and Hope Street in Edinburgh has been restored. The building used to be occupied by the department store Binns which was taken over by House of Fraser in 1953. The clock was installed in 1960 and was an iconic meeting place. The Frasers store closed in 2018 and the building is currently being converted into the Johnnie Walker Experience. The clock restoration work was carried out by the Cumbria Clock Company who also repaired the musical mechanism which plays traditional Scottish tunes every half an hour as the kilted figures march out of the clock. In keeping with tradition, the Highland figures will emerge to the musical accompaniment every seven and 37 minutes past the hour.
Thirty-one years ago Ant Harris put up Clocks (22) at Balls Head. Late this afternoon he was back on it...

I caught the sun striking directly on the clock tower for a brief moment.
Tried out an edit to give it a little more mystery. Not sure I love this edit but always good to try new things.
Clock for Watch or Watches I was watching it, it's a real laid back one nearly sliding off the shelf.

Tim and Liz were kind enough to bring me back this luxury, a Chairman Mao clock - complete with supporter waving around her copy of the little Red Book.
Victoria Tower built 1847-48 to commemorate the opening of the adjacent Salisbury Dock Liverpool. Known also as the 'Dockers Clock' and is to be restored as part of a docks re-development scheme. Just behind the Tower is the site of Everton FCs new stadium at the former Bramley Moore Dock, at left in the far distance is the Seaforth Container Port.
former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower, built in 1915, located at Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Standing 44-metres tall, the old Clock Tower was erected in 1915 as part of the Kowloon–Canton Railway terminus. The once-bustling station is long gone, but this red brick and granite tower, now preserved as a Declared Monument, survives as an elegant reminder of the Age of Steam. It has also been a memorable landmark for the millions of Chinese immigrants who passed through the terminus to begin new lives not just in Hong Kong, but in other parts of the world via the city’s harbour. www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/see-do/highlight-attractions...
