Some nature shots from last weekend.
This stag managed to shake all the water from its body while keeping its head and antlers still enough for me to get a sharp photograph.

Anolis Lizard, El Valle de Anton, Panama
Searching to identify this lizard, I learned that there are more than 400 species of Anolis lizards. Most of them are able to change their color based on their environment, some can be up to 20 inches long, and males and females differ in appearance.
This Anole was resting in plain view, sitting motionless, snoozing and basking in the sun at the top of a palm-like leaf low by the river, his long tail wrapped around resembling the various tendrils that surround him. Even after I pointed out the lizard to other people, they had a difficulty seeing it. His disguise was perfect.
This Shade Skink is 5 feet from the ground hunting for insects amongst the flowers on the Rosemary bush.
So much fun to watch the water pour out of this drain when raining. A lot nicer than a plain old white drain pipe!
This was seen in the village of Breisach, Germany.
The name for a group of jackdaws is a "clattering". Another name for a flock is a "train". Our local flock have discovered a convenient overflow which they take advantage of in this mini heatwave.

My third Iron Builder round versus ForlornEmpire is going on!
Seed part is the Iron Builder round versus Track Switch 9V in yellow and was used here 16 times.
Based on the car I designed, I built this garage to give it a worthy home. Had much fun with all the details laying around and playing around with light a bit!
Clever restroom doors. The pulley system with weight on top is closing the door automatically. For the lazy humans. --- also, good chocolate and coffee in the store --- #pulley #door #restroom #coffeeshop #dandelionchocolate
Winter, spring, summer and fall....these little acrobats are always present devising new ways to steal my bird food. :)

A lot of great hills, from Bowfell on left to Pillar on right, with the Gables inbetween.
I took a lot of shots during my brief visit to the Lakes, and as usual I took images that I would later stitch together, then forgot which they were! I'm not sure even if I intended to marry these two together (I usually take portrait format for intentional panoramas) but thanks to the power of photoshop the result is rather nice!

Posh looked at his two friends and scratched his head with his paw in confusion.
“Whatever are you two doing upside down?”
“We are working on a very cunning and clever plan Posh.” Said Sky
“Upside down?”
“Yes Posh, it has to be upside down to work.” Added Bertie.
“I see, so what is this clever plan supposed to achieve?”
“Clever and cunning Posh, don’t forget cunning.” Said Sky.
Posh sigh, a clear sign that he was getting bored with this conversation.
“It’s all about cleverness Posh. You know, like what you used to have.”
“I still do have it Bertie but how can going upside down help make you clever?”
“See Bertie, I told you that old Posh was losing it, he isn’t as clever as he used to be.”
“You’re quite right Sky, he would have worked it out ages ago instead of asking dumb questions like he is. It’s an old age thing I’m sure, after all the man is much the same these days. Quite bonkers in fact.”
“I saw him yesterday with that picture box on legs, there he was trying to take pictures of chocolate eggs and then when he saw me watching he ate the evidence. As you say, quite bonkers.”
“You never did answer my question either of you. Why are you both upside down trying to get clever?”
“You tell him Sky for he’ll never get it on his own, poor Posh.”
“It’s so simple Posh. You see your department that deals in cleverness is between your ears, right? Well that isn’t the only place you have cleverness in your body because you have clever legs, arms and even tummy sometimes. Now while it may be handy to have cleverness in those places it would be even better if you could let it all drain into your head in that space between your ears. Being downside up does just that and both Bertie and me were only saying before you got here, we can feel something happening so it must be working.”
“Oh, I’m sure it is working Sky, yes certainly and you should continue doing it for as long as you possibly can.” Said Posh smiling.
“Really Posh? We thought you would “Boo-hoo” our cunning and clever plan right away.”
“No not at all Bertie, you two carry on and I really do think it will work for you.”
“Thank you Posh, that is very nice of you to agree with us like this.” Added Sky.
“Posh, why aren’t you going to do it with us? I mean if it is such a good idea surely, you’d want to do it too.” Said Bertie.
“Well Bertie, you see we can all get cleverness in different ways. You and Sky get it upside down and that works for all three of us, because, while you are both upside down then my rapidly diminishing store of honey is fairly safe for a change. I checked it last night and I only have two jars left.”
“He doesn’t,” Whispered Bertie. “I borrowed one this morning.”
“What a coincidence Bertie, so did I. It must be this cleverness thing we are doing.” Whispered Sky happily.

My first Salvia flower spike started blooming and this clever Green Grass-Dart was the first to sample its nectar :)
This handsome House Finch was so colorful and beautifully posed...but it wasn't until I got home and looked at the image that I realized the trick he'd played on me!
