My contribution to the model a day project on www.neoclassicspace.com/

The LL-138.

Nothing special. It gets you aboard.

The LL331 Eagle Solar Fighter is part of the CS exploration fleet. Able to fly both in space and atmospheric conditions, the LL331's versatility makes it one of the most prolific space fighters currently in production.

The only limitation of the LL331 is the lack of a hyper-drive limiting the range of the craft to single solar systems.

Star Wars was a good movie series, but for LEGO.... it's Classic Space FTW!

Wouldn't this make for a great a t-shirt design?

During the early days of the Civil Space Police, they fielded the Solar Vanguard, a hybrid interceptor/perp transport.

The Solar Vanguard was mostly used on sleepy backwater worlds to apprehend rogue Blacktron agents committing minor offenses such as jay-walking, spitting, and public drunkeness.

Quick, well-armed, and holding an internal single holding cell, this is one Space Police craft not to take lightly.

Photo and models by Peter Reid/Legoloverman. I just painted out the support holding the hovering loader up.

This is a little Spacestation i built quite a while ago and finally got around to photograph. Its a long hexagonal tube with small extensions on the inner circle. It has a working airlock and a small cockpit. There are little boosters throughout the entire ship for steering in space. The energy for the station is generated by the 3 rotatable solarpanel-arms.

These are also old photos, I recovered from my brickshelf. I already posted this MOC long time ago (but with only a single photo): HERE

A rover especially designed for amplifying communication signals when exploring new terrain.

This is the X-1 Patrol Craft, a small but powerful-looking ship that was exclusive to the US and Canada.

The original FX Star Patroller is kind of ugly and gangly, but this remake is pretty sleek and sturdy. It has three-point retractable landing gear, a rover and robot in the back, and swiveling landing engines. It also comes with a small lunar rock formation with an energy crystal inside. I still need to get a yellow Classic Spaceman from TLM2 as the pilot - blue isn't the right color.

One of my favorite sets, again thanks to its simplicity and straightforwardness. Yeah, one clear dish didn't survive trampling feet.

The right one is a proxy which I made. I like neutral clear thin windows better, it brings some light into the compartment, and yellow and gray is a color combination which I generally don't like much.

I don't think a person is meant to fit into the compartment., so I put some tools inside - a fire extinguisher and a flashlight gizmo (the sonic screwdriver of the Lego universe?).

A space mining vessel that collects atmospheric hydrogen from gas giants and transports it inside internal storage tanks. The colors are based on the R:Tron prototype.

A modern update of set 6890 "Cosmic Cruiser" aka "Delta 1 Explorer and Shuttle," primarily inspired by a Space Police 3 sketch model built by Mark Stafford in 2007 or 2008, which in turn reminded NilsOBrix of the Cosmic Cruiser in a comment. Original here:

The Cosmic Cruiser is harder to update than the 918/924/928 series, because so much of its identity derives from its functionality rather than its shape. The mini scooter inside the larger spaceship, which itself is still small and swooshable, is a fun idea, but I don't like some aspects of the original set. The main rocket motor is way too big for the scooter, and with the scooter removed the spaceship is an immobile shell. With the scooter in place, the cockpit is anything but airtight, and the scooter rattles around as if it's about to fall out.

In this update, I wanted to keep the size and shape of Mark Stafford's sketch model while adding Cosmic Cruiser play features. I also wanted the Cruiser itself to still be flyable without the scooter - perhaps it can operate autonomously to come pick up the scooter if the scooter runs out of gas. That meant the scooter had to have a separate, smaller engine and the Cruiser had to have a set of retractable landing gear separate from the scooter. That also required the main engine and the rear fuselage to all swing up on the same hatch, which became too heavy to trust to the hinges used. It was then a bit of a challenge to come up with locks to hold the hatch in the open and closed positions. The hull color had to be red because a critical wedge piece is not available in blue.

The scooter is smaller and more boring than I would have preferred, but it fits neatly in the shell of the Cruiser with a docking mechanism that's a little bit more sophisticated than simply leaving studs on top, and the cockpit is airtight. As an homage to the original set, the scooter is built around the current standard automobile base, just like the original was. Unfortunately, I couldn't find room for the scooter to carry the standard set of tools (radio, spanner, space gun).

These were each shot on top of a glass pane, while the black backdrop is decorated with Christmas lights. Each of these photos were taken with various aperture settings and different camera positions, sometimes with certain band or crowd members re-positioned.

I wanted to share something for febROVERy...though technically this was built around November, as part of a larger project. (I hope to reveal more about that soon.)

Anyhow, CLASSIC SPACE. Enjoy!

Classic Space LL-Destiny - Deep Explorer Space Transport

Two of the back of the box alternate builds for 6891 Gamma V Laser Craft (1985)

I have 6825, 6872, 6883 and 6928 left to build of the blue vehicles. I prefer the gray ones over the blue and/or white ones.

The last known Classic Space keychain* still missing in my collection - finally found this week (as a bundle of the pictured three 1978/79 keychains) on an online marketplace. Yay! 💪
