The Avison Ensemble as part of its education projects has brought together the Gateshead Youth Orchestra and First Act Theatre to stage a performance of The Beggar's Opera. This education project has been funded by the Northern Rock Foundation.
The Avison Ensemble is the outstanding period instrument orchestra based in Newcastle upon Tyne, which plays and popularises the music of Charles Avison (1709-1770) and other English classical composers of the Baroque period, such as Garth, Arne and Herschel. The Ensemble also performs Purcell, Handel, Vivaldi, Corelli, Geminiani, Pergolesi, Teleman, Rameau, Bach, Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.
There is some awesome categorizing going on in the iTunes store, and as much as I think this album is a classic, I'm guessing some others might have a different definition. That said, I'd love to see someone's face who is looking for Bach or Vivaldi and listens to this instead.

this sign was about 12? feet wide i believe, and 4 feet high. if i had had more time, i would have tiled the whole thing rather than just the borders. that would have been beautiful!
the ladies are taken from art nouveau clip-art, little black and white pics that i enlarged and colored. the loopy black border was taken from an art history textbook i have, and the font is a favorite called "Desdemona". i used to have a wonderful pet rat named Desdemona....
when tower was dismantled and liquidated this sign was propped up in between some dusty, empty cd racks with a $50 price tag slapped on it. it sold... i dont know to whom, but i hope someone is enjoying it somewhere. i was SO PROUD that i got it detatched from the wall in one piece when the classical room was closed down.

On March 27 and 28, 2010, Will Faerber held a clinic on Classical Dressage.
The Dressage Clinic was hosted by Esther Hillner and Talisman Farm, at Twin Palms Stables in Las Vegas.
