Classical shot of the excellent rebuilt station at Chinnor, currently the only station on the line (there is only a run-round loop at Thame Jn). Protracted discussions are still ongoing with Network Rail regarding the last ½ mile of line running into the bay platform at Princes Risborough

I went to see Ludovico Einaudi last night as a birthday gift from my boyfriend. I have always been an avid listener of classical musical from as early as I can remember, and Ludo is one of my favourite pianists/composers. Both himself and his orchestra were simply sublime - few feelings can surpass hearing classical live. I was moved in so many ways: some pieces were heart-wrenchingly sad, others as dramatic as a rumbling stampede of bulls.
What really caught my eye before the music began, though, was the setting. It was based at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, and the interior was decorated so that it looked like a boat. From the ceiling hung a canopy of lights in a sort of web. Of course, I had to shoot a bokeh.
Oh…. and I filmed a few of Ludovico’s songs. Without my camera microphone being switched on. I am a moron.
In Lincoln this chap was entertaining the Saturday shoppers with beautiful classical music. We stood and watched, listened and appreciated his talent. Then he changed his tune - I wasn't expecting this one.
The same shape and size as every other classical guitar on the planet.
This one recovered from the dump, bought for a couple of quid, oiled and cleaned and is perfectly playable.

Fragments from the colossal cult statue of the Emperor Domitian from his temple in Ephesus. Only his head and left forearm are preserved and displayed in the Ephesus Museum in Selcuk (returned in the last few years from the Archeological Museum in Izmir)
The tyrannical Domitian is portrayed here in a peculiar and somewhat grotesque manner, his thickset features are almost those of an infant on an adult body!
Built in 1871, this Classical Revival-style water tower was designed by George I. Barnett to serve as a standpipe for the city water system of St. Louis, and remained in service until 1912. The water tower is one of the oldest in the United States, the oldest remaining water tower in St. Louis, and is the tallest freestanding corinthian column in the world, standing 154 feet (47 meters) tall. The tower takes the form of a Corinthian column with a white-painted brick and stone exterior, Corinthian capital, and an octagonal base, and stands in the middle of a traffic circle at the intersection of Grand Avenue and North 20th Street. The tower had aircraft lights added to the top of the capital in the 1920s, following its decommissioning, and in the 1930s, was saved from demolition. The tower was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, and was restored in 1998. Today, the tower stands prominently atop a hill, and is lit up at night by powerful floodlights.

For anyone who was at State Theatre New Jersey on Sunday, October 23, excitement was in the air! The day marked the kickoff to our 2016-2017 Classical Season with our Classical Season Celebration, honoring Peter and Maggie Stavrianidis for their unwavering support and commitment to the mission of State Theatre New Jersey. In addition to an incredible performance by the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, with Seong Jin-Cho, winner of the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition, event guests were treated to a pre-performance cocktail reception and post-performance dinner. We were also delighted to welcome Alicja Tunk, Deputy Consul General of Poland, as our special guest for the day. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our 2016 Classical Season Celebration!
