Locomotive Services Limited's Class 90, 90001 "Royal Scot" arrives back into the former Platform 1 at Crewe with the first test run of a full rake of InterCity-liveried Mk3s and a DVT.
Looking in ex-works condition, the 90 and its rake definitely recreate the 90s feel (pun intended!).
The inbound path was 5T91 19:16 Rugby to Crewe Holding Sidings, although it started at Amington Junction after 90001 encountered issues there on the outward leg.
These issues led to 001 being pulled from the inaugural tour two days later and sister Skoda 002 stepping up to work the train.

The first of Freightliner's 'new' Class 90 locomotives, stood down from Abellio Greater Anglia earlier this year, is 90014. The locomotive had work undertaken at Crewe EMD before being dispatched to Toton for repainting. After some further work at Crewe VMF after it's repaint, the locomotive was sent out on it's first test run today with 90044 along for company. Seen here passing Winwick Jn with the 0Z90 13:09 Crewe BH-Crewe BH (reversal at Carnforth)

This character looked like he was standing guard. No doubt protecting his flock, but inadvertently also keeping photters like me away from my subject.
The two 90's were 047 and 045 and the location was the northbound loop at Abington.
Freightliner Class 90 No.90042 and No.90047 descend a sunny Belstead Bank heading towards Ipswich on 11th February 2021 working 4L97 06:15 Trafford Park-Felixstowe North.
All three class 90's stood in Mossend Down Yard Reception Sidings are actually in different markings. The leading loco 90 036 carries DB Schenker livery and markings, 90 028 in the middle is in full EWS colours without a DB logo over the EWS emblem. While on the rear and actually dead in tow is the most recently repainted class 90 no.90 019 named 'Intermodal' and carrying DB Cargo livery which is basically the same as the front one but the Schenker name has been dropped and the DB logo is much larger.
It looks like the trio are on a car train but they aren't as the wagons are those from the previous nights 6X65 ex Didcot. The three 90's will instead work south with 6V15 the 17.30 to Didcot.

The distinctive lines of the Class 90 cab/nose end are highlighted on a miserable wet October evening at Ipswich station.
Its lighting up time as 90013 prepares to depart with the 1743 to Liverpool Street started here due to engineering works further north.
The cold wet half light atmosphere is depicted nicely in this close up study.

Greater Anglia Class 90 No. 90007 seen passing Drayton Park and the Emirates stadium on the little used Canonbury curve that links the NLL with the ECML. 90007 is working 5L54 from Bounds Green depot to Liverpool street. Due to modernisation work at Crown Point depot Greater Anglia class 90/DVT sets are heading to Bounds Green depot after the morning peak for maintenance and returning to the GEML for the evening peak as seen here.
