Class 90034 in its debranded DRS colours seen coming to a stop at Peterborough with “The Beverley Christmas Carol” which was previously hauled by 50044 and 50007 from Doncaster to Beverley and return. 90034 hauled the charter from London kings cross to Doncaster Royal Mail terminal and return. 18/12/21
DB Cargo's 90039 'The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport' passes Red Bank as it returns the 'Pride of Planning' private railtour from Carlisle back to Crewe (1Z86). 67005 'Queen's Messenger' brought up the rear, having been used to haul the tour over the S&C on the outward leg.
Rumours abound that 90039 is back into storage following the conclusion of this tour, along with all but one of its fellow DB 90s. Such a shame to see the railways in such a state where it costs more to utilise greener electrical power than it does to stick a heap of diesel in a class 66 and have it clag up and down the country...
Backbone liveried DB 90039 seen passing Linslade working 1Z85 staff charter to Carlisle from London Euston.
Rumours suggest this is its last run for a while before going back into storage.

After spending most of the day trying to keep me and the camera dry, the last thing I'd have done was put money on a heatwave and threat of a hosepipe ban in the ensuing three months.

Just four days since being released from the paintshop at Wolverton, the striking yellow front end on 010 certainly cut through the gloomy Warwickshire morning. So fresh I almost got paint splashes on me!
A very mediocre second day of the week off today. Despite what I said about not using the gloom as a reason not to phot, today's trip along the various spots towards Burton just didn't really hit the spot, and I've come away with little I'm happy to share. Will be driven by the forecast tomorrow as to where I end up.

Once a famailar sight on the WCML, here we see DB Cargo locomotive 90036 working postal train 1M44 from Shieldmuir RMT to Dallam RMT hauling units 325005/011/003 (in that order).
The train was captured passing through Sedgewick in Cumbria on the evening of the 12/5/16.
** For information, the class 325 units seen this image have now been scrapped and 90036 was in store at Crewe IEMD at the time of uploading this image**
The driver of orange liveried Freightliner locomotive 90 009 takes an interest in the bloke taking a photo of his train as it passes Camden Market. To be fair to him, there were a couple of other people with me, together with another chap recording a video of the train on their mobile phone.
Running just over an hour and a half late 4M63, the 09.12 Felixstowe to Trafford Park leaves the North London Line at Camden Road Junction, and takes the link via the long closed Primrose Hill station to Camden Junction and the West Coast Main Line.
So there I am, fresh at Crewe off the Pretendogreeno (that name is trademarked by the way, by me :), so don't even think of using it without the appropriate royalties duly sent :D) on 1K39, and there's this bloke stood next to me, in a DBS hi-viz coat. I clocked him whilst I was approaching and I did wonder then... Anyways, I'm snapping away, minding my own business when this Northern type voice pipes up "Are you on Flickr?". "Yes", I replies. "Darkprince 66?" "Tunny?" "Yup." Then another one joins in, "Hi, I'm 90042". Well done Tunny on thinking I'd be on 1K39. And great to meet you both!
1K39 of 13 May 2011 at Crewe after arrival 30 minutes late, no fault of big beastie 90041 though! Besides, would I have got a shot like this if it had been on time? Nah...

90049 and 90016 are seen heading north with a well laden evening working at Abington. don't mind working away so much when I can spend a little time on an evening on route in fine weather at the lineside.

Locomotive Services Limited 90 002 rounds the curve at Queensville, at Stafford at the head of 1Z94 London Euston to Manchester.
This working was an extra to provide additional capacity on the WCML for the many people traveling to London in connection with the Queens lying in state at Westminster Hall and her state funeral.
