Taken at the north end of Carstairs station, believed to be on 3 July 1988.
The named 47 is in Railfreight livery with a Stratford depot sticker.

I think this was on it's way to York because the same set up was working 'The Tubular Belle' Railtour from York to Holyhead and return the next day

Waiting a path onto the Oldham loop with ECS ,I'd already worked the train from Stockport dropped off the Chelsea (Oldham won 3-0!) fans at Oldham Werneth.The route from Crewe was via Stockport,Denton,Ashton,Newton Heath Oldham Werneth ECS to Red Bank run round then return the opposite way.I made 14 hours after getting a ride back from Crewe after midnight.Only to find I had been burgled!
