Ancestral area reconstructions for extant primates based on dispersal-extinction-cladogenesis (DEC).Ancestral area reconstructions were performed under a simplified DEC model that allowed a maximum of two areas at internal nodes. Internal nodes with a single square were reconstructed to include a single area, whereas internal nodes with two squares were reconstructed to include two areas. Dashed lines between adjacent nodes indicate that alternative area reconstructions at the basal-most node fall within two log-likelihood units of the optimal scenario shown in the figure. Multi-colored names denote taxa that occur in more than one area. Range transitions on branches indicate inferred dispersal events. Numbers in triangles indicate the number of species in each collapsed clade.

I thought I would experiment with a piece of scrap external insulation cladding from a type being currently installed in Upper Cwmbran. When the ignition source was removed, it went out but created extremely unpleasant fumes. While flame was in contact with the material, it did flame up. Doesn't encourage me to have it applied to my house!

Agastyakoodam (Agastya Malai), a towering forested peak of 1868 metres, and adjoining forests in the tail end of Western Ghats form the most diverse and unknown ecosystem in Peninsular India.
Clad, a joint endeavor from JC Penney and the editors of Esquire, debuted this year to provide men with, well, anything and everything that's fashionable. The site has helpfully compiled an extensive under-$100 gift list, but our hands-down favorite item to make the roundup would be these side buckle leather gloves from John Varvatos ($95).

Steel (or aluminium?) cladding on buildings like this appears to be much more common here in Berlin than anywhere else I've lived. Most examples I've found tend to be in the former East. I'm always conscious though, maybe I'm just looking for it there?

House Mill
The Worlds largest tidal mill. 5-storey, timber-framed, brick-clad timber watermill with four waterwheels, originally built 1776 to mill grain for distillery trade. Operational until 1940. On historic 3 Mills Site.
History
The House Mill was built in 1776 by Daniel Bisson, on the site of an earlier mill and between two houses occupied by the miller and his family, hence its name. The Clock Mill opposite was rebuilt in 1817. There was also a third mill, a windmill, which survived until about 1840. The House Mill continued to operate until 1941 and the Clock Mill until 1952.
Restoration
In 1989 work began on the House Mill and the fabric of the Mill has been fully restored. As part of the work to restore the site, the Miller’s House, which had been demolished in the late 1950s, was reconstructed in 1993/4. The façade was rebuilt to the 1763 design with reused 18th century bricks. Using many of the original materials recovered from the bombed site, the ground floor of the Miller’s House has been reconstructed as original, whilst the rest of the building is a new structure.
The Miller’s House provides a visitor, information, and education centre, with meeting rooms for hire and a small cafe. It was funded by the European Union. In 1996 it won a Civic Trust Commendation for outstanding architecture.
The garden was laid out to include a combination of design suggestions by pupils of Sarah Bonnell School, and includes original kitchen garden plants and a herb garden.

The area known as Three Mills Island is a stretch of land surrounded by three channels of the ancient River Lea. There have been mills in this area for many centuries – according to the Domesday Survey, there were at least eight mills here at that point in time. Over time, wind power was used to drive mills with the addition of windmills. But, this area remains, perhaps, best known for its tidal mills. It was to become the home of the biggest tidal mill in the world.
The mills on this site were historically able to take advantage of the tidal flow of the river up to the Thames Estuary and the local Bow Creek. During its heyday, the mills here could work for up to eight hours in each tide, allowing them to become major producers in London.
In medieval times, Three Mills was the main producer of flour for local bakers who baked bread for the city. The mills here also had other uses, however, and at least one was a gunpowder mill. The site was largely developed in the 1720s when it was purchased by a group of local residents, including Peter Lefevre, a Huguenot refugee from France.
In the 1770s, the owners built the current House Mill building. Its name was derived from its location between two houses for staff who worked on the site as millers. The second of the mills, the Clock Mill, was constructed in 1817 and the third was a windmill. This site was a thriving concern in the 18th century. As well as the mills that worked on site, the owners also ran a distillery and piggery and employed many local people.
The House Mill was damaged by a fire in 1802 and needed to be partly rebuilt. Bombing during the Second World War effectively closed the site down in terms of milling production. The last of the mills to be in operation was the House Mill itself, which was ultimately shut down in 1941. This building now has a Grade I listing.

Nendoroid Mai Shiranui
Mai Shiranui is, of course, the scantily clad, buxom, flame wielding, fan tossing counterpart to Chun Li in the SNK universe. Her most titillating feature, back in the day, was her ability to pull an endless supply of fans out of her bosom. Since '92, her powers and of course proportions have been interpreted by several different artists, each bringing something new to the table. Sadly, I have to say that between Chun Li and Mai, Chun Li is probably more relevant when it comes to actually kicking ass these days.
My favorite rendition of Mai would probably by the one by Nishimura Kinu, the artist behind the Super Street Fighter character designs I believe, and featured for the SNK vs. Capcom series.
Sadly, as a result of adulting and getting married, my somewhat triumphant Mai collection was whittled away to nothingness, with nothing but fond memories and old photos. Having two daughters just was another nail on the coffin because, with the exception of like one costume in KoF Max, there is no such thing as a G.. or hell, even PG rated depiction of Mai.
Until now... mwahahahahaha!
Back in 2017, for whatever reason (maybe it was the release of the new KoF game), all of a sudden Mai became relevant again with several companies releasing figures and statues and whatnot, including GSC through their Nendoroid line. Sadly, while there was a Figma Kyo, nothing else seemed to have come from that particular endevour.. here's hoping Storm picks up the slack.
Nendoroid Mai comes with several expressions, flaming tassels, regular tassles, and a variety of fans/limbs to simulate a variety of her fighting techniques, including her Fan Throw, Flaming Tail, and of course Ninja Bee Desperation move.. sort of.
OK, it's more of her normal rolling special, but a boy can dream!
The figure, as expected, look fabulous, with the high level of QC in tolerances, decal work, and paint apps delivered. I suppose the weak spot, as there is always one, is the fact her hands don't actually hold the damn fan particularly well, which is what happens when you have Homer Simpson proportioned hands.
I can't be the only one who saw the episode where his hands were too fat to dial 911.
So that was the mini review on Mai Shiranui. Another solid addition to the Nendoroid line, if you're into that sort of thing. If not, then there really isn't anything that can be said that would sell you on it anyway.
The ivy clad Bear Hotel in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England. The 13th century hotel appears in several Inspector Morse mysteries. The hotel's conference rooms are in one of Woodstock's famous glove factories in which gloves were produced for royalty.
P.S. Beware of the haunted room!

This fire station was built to replace a couple of the aging downtown fire stations shortly after World War II. The design of the building was sleek and modern for its time period, with a brick first floor and a second floor covered in aqua-colored Vitrolite panels, with long ribbons of windows along both street frontages on the second floor. The first floor was once more open with a large glass window on the side facing Broadway Street, but this was removed during a later renovation to the building. However, some of the original first-floor transparency remains in the form of the glass doors on five of the fire engine bays, with one bay having since been converted into a more conventional entrance to the building, and a bay along Broadway Street having a steel-panel door with small windows. The horizontality of the building is only interrupted at the south end of the building along Broadway Street, where there is a stairwell with vertically-emphasized elements, including a large curtainwall and a tower behind it to the west that rises one floor above the rest of the building. This building is one of several mid-century fire stations in the downtown basin, from all of which Fire Station 3 is set apart by its distinct cladding materials and facade.
