Nice! Got an award yesterday for a "Return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC)" result.
Had a cardiac arrest patient a while back and 'got' them back! YAS has recently started this award giving thing to raise the profile of the value of saving lives and as a method to thank individuals and crews/teams that are involved with an arrest scenario.. :)
My friend Dave next to me (Left) got an award too for a case he was involved with.
I work for Yorkshire Ambulance Service on the RRVs in and around the city of Sheffield in South Yorkshire.
It’s a great job and I feel very honoured to be able to help people at their point of need.
Check out the website for all sorts of info re YAS and the work we do.

Langmuir circulation.
For over fifteen years, I have always wondered what these lines on the surface of the water were formed by and what was the scientific term. I sent a photo to a friend who is a Marine Biologist and he knew exactly what I was talking about These lines are caused by Langmuir circulation.

Plastic debris does not remain on the surface forever. Eventually it starts to sink. Cold, dense water sinks in the North Atlantic and Southern Ocean, driving what is often referred to as the ocean conveyor belt or thermohaline circulation. This deep water circulation pattern couples with the subtropical gyres and redistributes cooled waters towards the deep ocean layers. The combination of these currents could provide a mechanism for enhanced vertical dispersion of near-neutrally buoyant plastic particles and debris; further research is required.
