The SOO only had a handful of low nose geeps, all chopped during wreck repairs. Seeing as it wasn't a mass program to do all the geeps and most of the chopped ones were retrofitted with kits from EMD I always thought they added a little pizazz to the roster. 411 rests at Marshfield in this view by the late Joe Stauber on May 25, 1975. The Pileated Woodpecker is such an impressive sight that
many people believe the bird is rarer than it is. It resides
from Nova Scotia and Ontario south to Texas and Florida
and west through central Canada to British Columbia and
northern California.
Some 15 to 19 inches long with a bright red crest, the Pileated Woodpecker is both spectacular and noisy. When this huge woodpecker is hammering on a tree in search of beetle larvae the noise is so loud it sounds like someone chopping wood with an axe.
Pileated Woodpeckers feed on carpenter ants, the larvae of carpenter bees, beetles and fruit. In summer, in Florida you often see them pecking at the bright red seeds in Magnolia cones.
I found this male at Circle B Bar Reserve on Alligator Alley Trail.

Chopping green chillies for fritters early in the morning surely has to be one of the worst occupations . I was impressed with the speed with which this man did his work and had a conversation with me.
Saw this big boy in the park and took a shot at him.. :-}

CHOP SUEY, 699 JACKSON STREET, SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, USA
(View Full Screen, Please)
Chop suey is widely believed to have been invented in America by Chinese Americans, but the anthropologist E.N. Anderson concludes that the dish is based on tsap seui (杂碎, “miscellaneous leftovers”), common in Taishan (Toisan), a county in Guangdong Province (Canton), the home of many early Chinese immigrants to the U.S.
