I was able to caputure two distinctive personalities when I went to the zoo with my family a few weeks ago.
A bit of a different pose than most chimps in origami. the first of a set i'm working on. this is just a test fold
Shooting chimps is great fun! They know they are being watched and are quite happy to put on a performance for you. I could watch them for hours.
Shot this with the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens which was just about enough length for what I needed and captured every little hair in stunning sharpness. View large to see what I mean. Such a versatile lens!
I hope you guys like monkeys because I've been snapping away at Monkey World and I've got quite a few pics to put up over the next week or so!
heres the cp for my chimp. i dont have references, sorry, and there are a lot of folds omitted because i was kinda lazy. But i don't think anyone will try it so i guess it doesn't matter that much
Of course he is chimping. Look I can even see his smile whilst viewing the back of his Canon 5D MKIII camera. I know it is his new toy. A friend from our camera club on the World Wide Photo Walk in Cairns. This is at the Lagoon Pool on the Esplanade. He is actually sitting on the seawall, but you would think he is cooling his heels :-) Have a happy weekend tweets.
Cheeky Chimps - Leyland Olympian/Northern Counties - K888 BFG is seen here at Tyldesley, Astley Street on April 10th 2016.
This was new to Capital Citybus and also spent time with First.
Marineland was opened in 1964 at a cost of £200,000 (over £3 million today) and was the first such facility in Europe to be purpose built for aquatic animal shows. Eight dolphins were flown in from Florida and these were later joined by several sealions and even some performing chimps!
By the late-1980s only one dolphin remained (Rocky) and in 1988 a covert attempt was made to try and release him back into the nearby sea, under cover of darkness. The project was abandoned and several people received fines and suspended prison sentences for conspiracy to steal.
The following year a legitimate campaign was started and enough money was raised to purchase Rocky and he was released into the sea in the Caribbean in 1991 along with two other dolphins from Brighton Aquarium. Their subsequent fate remains unknown.
Marineland closed it's doors and was demolished the following year.
S.E.A.L. TEAM BIO
Name: Melissa Monroe
AKA: Chimp Chop, frist lieutenant
Age: 24 years old
Favorite weapon: Dual Cleavers
Backstory: Melissa was born the daughter of a butcher in Chicago. She learned the family trade and was ready to take over the business when the end of the world interrupted her plans. Rescued by Kitty when her SUV was attacked by Zombies at a rest stop on the Interstate, Chimp Chop is a ruthless killer who's greatest pleasure is seeing a zombie's head lying next to its body.
The IBIS on the E-M5 is incredible - eventhough this isn't tack sharp, I think it's pretty darn sharp for a 1/5 second handheld shot.
Beautiful location, beautiful sunset, beautiful girl: $0
Chimping the sunset instead of being in the moment: Priceless.
(I totally chimped after shooting them... but only to check the histogram... =] )
