My friends' kid, Chili. Super sweet girl and likes having her picture taken.

I had heaps of leftover chili chocolate ganache from my cupcakes, so I made these brownies and used the chili chocolate ganache instead of that recipe's semi-sweet chocolate ganache. It was very nice, but almost too hot for me!

I Grilled up a few Hebrew National Hotdogs and made this homemade chili sauce. Heres the recipe I used

1 medium onion-chopped

1 pound ground beef

16 ounces tomato paste

1 tablespoon vinegar

1/4 cup sweet relish

1 dash caynne pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons yellow mustard

Brown together the onion and ground beef. Bring Beef mixture, paste, vinegar, sweet relish and salt to a boil. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add Yellow Mustard, chili powder, pepper and caynne pepper. Add a little water if its too thick

Chili's Banana Bread Pudding

1 diced onion

1-2 clove(s) garlic

2 medium carrots, peeled, chopped

some cooking oil (canola is good)

1 28oz can of plum tomatoes

1 19oz can of red kidney beans

1 5oz can of tomato paste

1/2 cup frozen corn kernels

cumin

coriander

pepper

chili powder

dried oregano

1/2 tsp. sugar (to cut the acidity of the tomatoes)

Sauté onion, garlic and carrots in oil in a cast iron skillet for 5 minutes or until onions are softened. Add tomatoes, beans and tomato paste. Add seasonings. Stir and bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Alternatively, put the skillet in an oven pre-heated to 450°F for 20 minutes.

If you have bottle of lager on hand, pour some in if it gets too dry. Serve with Jasmine rice.

Geoglifos Cerros Pintados - geoglyphs of the Atacama desert

In the Atacama Desert of northern Chile can be found another cluster of Pre-Columbian Geoglyphs.

They were discovered in 1961 by James Kieghlev, while performing an aerial survey of the region, Some of the geoglyphs are as large as 300 ft/100 meters. A later survey by geologist Robert Hamilton and engineer Emil de Bruyne resulted in the realization that the region was, at one point, populated by large agriculturally based culture with large settlements and ceremonial centers.

The largest of the geoglyphs is "EL GIGANTE" (the "Giant"), which is almost 400 ft long (120 meters).

To date, on the hill-sides of Atacama, have been found representations of: humans, animals, and geometric designs. The appears to use similar techniques to those found on the Nazca Plateau of Peru. Unfortunately, access to these geoglyphs is restricted by lack of roads, making a walking trek necessary to view them.

There are over 5,000 prehistoric geoglyphs in the Atacama Desert of northern Chile, and like the Nazca lines of Peru, they are mysterious, beautiful and awe-inspiring.

Although we can't know the entire reason they were built, researcher Luis Briones believes they are part sign post and part story-telling along a transportation network connecting the South American civilizations in combined commercial and religious travel led by caravans of llamas.

my wife bought me some Theo Ghost Chili (Bhut Jolokia) Pepper chocolates from Theo Chocolates. The flakes you see on the top are actually red sea salt sprinkled on top. the pepper is infused in the caramel inside.

I was worried they would be really really hot but actually was just medium on my heat scale. They must have used a tiny tiny amount in the process because that chili rates at up to 1,000,000 Scoville Units

Chili's Parmesan Tilapia

The first two bowls I plated looked a bit nicer, but we were more interested in eating them than in photography. Thankfully Jules grabbed this shot of our 2nd bowl.

It is good. REALLY good. I doubled the amount of Chilies in the recipe and added a TSP of cayenne for good measure. I think it melted my teeth...

Based on BCD's Chilis, this modular building features and extra 16X32 studs expansion, allowing this designer to move the main entrance to the corner (making it a corner building) as well as many of the internal components. It also allowed for extra booths for customers and for a hostess station. The bar area gets a boost of space as well with the rearrangement, and access to the bathrooms is now through the bar, and not through the dining area.
