This week's theme was childhood. I struggled a little to come up with a concept, but this came together at the last minute. I think I shot these same shoes for my 365 project a couple of years ago.
Carefree childhood
The greatest poem ever known
Is one all poets have outgrown:
The poetry, innate, untold,
Of being only four years old.
Revisit your childhood and ride the full-scale carousel at the Museum of Idaho.
Pictured here is my darling niece.
The age when every one seeks for hidden treasure every where..... the imagination, the interest and curiosity........ all comes at that time.... that is call CHILDHOOD
So... I had this Stacie since I was 12 and she was my Todd's BFF since they were the only two each other's size. She went into storage when I discovered Obitsus but I pulled her out last year when I was back into 1/6th.
I scalped her around the time my ex cheated on me (I tend to go "LET'S SEE WHAT CRAZY CUSTOMS I CAN DO WHEN EMOTIONALLY UPSET") and she's been bald for almost 7 months now. I used hair from a Liv wig and chugged the hair in about 3 hours since I only rerooted the part and hairline xD
Now she can go back to being neglected, but with hair!
Nothing lasts forever. Let's take our childhood. It's the time we don't care about anything, and even if we do it's just about the little things. The real problems won't appear until our childhood is over. And then we wish we were that young, happy child again. And we feel the longing for a carefree existence..
Taken for Our Daily Challenge (Topic: From Your Childhood)
This combines several elements of my childhood. One, I loved stuffed animals and had tons of them (still do ;). Two, I used to read books to my stuffed animals and teach them everything I had learned in school. This book happens to be the Sleepy Pig :) and Three, I used to wear my hair in really high pigtails, or as I liked to call them, "Puppy Dog Ears" and pretend that I was a puppy =] I was a strange child, but that fact that I am going to be a "legal" adult very soon here makes me really sad!
With monsoon finally smashing our coastline... heres a cheer to childhood. Good that my wife still knew the folds...

Del Monte Gardens was our much-loved hometown skating rink for over 55 years. Here a handful of kids including our son (in red shirt on the right) do the “Hokey Pokey” two weeks before it closed its doors forever.
This drafty 75 year old building played a big part in my life.
My parents went here when they were young, I spent countless weekends there as a kid with my friends, and in high school I first held a girl’s hand during “couples skate”. For years we took our son and his friends there on rainy weekends and for birthday parties where the kids had soda cake and ice cream and the parents snuck Chardonnay from under the adults table.
Del Monte Gardens sold in 2011 to make way for an organic foods supermarket in a deal that fell through and was demolished in February 2012. It’s been a vacant lot for sale ever since. Note the genuine Disco ball which I remember showed up in the late 70’s along with the Space Invaders video game.
Childhood is like flower, so tender that you need to handle it in a way that it doesn't get exposed to harsh environments too early. Let your kids enjoy and live their childhood, they will secure their tender happy moments life long!!
I have a strange and specific love for MAD Magazine. When I was a kid I would buy it and read it and feel vaguely titillated that there were all these "adult" jokes - which were barely on the colorful side of risque at best - and funny comics, and I enjoyed all the different artwork styles in each issue, especially the stuff put out by heavyweights Al Jaffee and Don Martin.
What MAD stands out in my mind most for, though, is the movie parodies. My parents didn't go to the movies that much when I was a kid, and I grew up with the three basic antenna channels (four if you count PBS) and so my pop culture movie knowledge from that time is nearly zip ... except for what I read in MAD. Just a few years ago I got around to watching Altered States and though I'd never seen it before I knew exactly where it was going thanks to 'Assaulted States' in issue #225.
I developed a decent collection of issues from the very late 70s and early- to mid-80s and re-read each one a thousand times, and then ... I don't know what happened to them. I mean I obviously sold them off with some part of my comic collection a decade (or almost two! good grief!) ago. Recently I saw mention of some movie - Coma, maybe? or Cocoon? - and it made me think, "I still have never seen that movie but I remember the MAD version." This was followed immediately afterward by, "I have to get some of those issues back."
Until recently I had never been to Crescent City Comics which is a shame because I've parked across the street from it dozens of times. I emailed them, they confirmed that they had a bunch of back issues, and today I went by and picked up a solid handful, strictly based on covers I recognized as those that I once had in my collection. It's a great shop and I was more than once overwhelmed with nostalgia for those countless hours of my childhood I spent in Bob's Collector's Den, Big D's, and Asylum Earth.
I can not wait to re-read these. I'm under no illusion that they're going to be good and yet I want to revel in the horrible, horrible jokes, to hopefully catch up on a few more pieces of innuendo that I missed as a kid, and get inspired to check out even more movies from the 80s that I've never gotten around to watching and yet still somehow know by heart.
do u remember this fruit?
It is called 'sweet tamarind' and we used to eat loads and loads of this fruit during our childhood.

Hello! Everything about this photo is about childhood and the things that are connected with it. Dreams, love, care, family, favourite toys are only some things about my childhood. Even though I lost my dad when I was small I still cherish all the moment of my childhood. I like children for their pureness. Bitterness has nothing to do with children!
I wish you all to be like children, so kind, pure and dreamy even when you are already adults. I hope I will retain the positiveness and belief in myself through all my life that I had as I was young. Being a child when you are a grown-up only give you great opportunities in creating things as well as in world perception.
My model's name is Anna and I think she is great!
