-------------------
The Queen is a larger piece of a chess game and moves in straight lines down the rows, columns and diagonals on the board. Can not jump your own pieces or taking their opponents and capture the house occupied by the opponent. Because of their value is usually changed only by opposing lady and their sacrifice, in line with other parts, are positions that often determine the outcome of the match.
Romera is inspired by the Queen, a fundamental part in the fables, short stories and children's stories and northeastern typical scenario created by the master Vilalino serves as a reference and pay homage to our beloved wilderness!
"Lux in Tenebris
Here stands before you the mightiest of the Valkyrie, the one who watches over the balance between Light and Darkness, the Emissiary of Chaos. Her name is Altheona, the Twilight Valkyrie
A noble warrior, versed in the arts of chaos, and capable of unleashing tremendous power to vanquish her foes, and restore the balance between the Light and Darkness when under threat.
Armed with an arsenal of mystical weapons forged with the very essence of those powers, Altheona a skillful combatant when the need arises. She can summon the weapons and fluidly transition between their combinations for maximum effect. Her Seraphic Spear and Shield of Virtue are her primary response to the minions of darkness. She can also call upon the shadows to bring forth her Hellforged Mace and Demonic Shield to eliminate transgressors who serve the Light."
How overdue is this though!
For those of you who have been following me, you will have seen WIP's of this for several months. At some point I was done with it and I figured you guys might want to see it. So without further ado, here's a preview of my most perfect WIP to date: the Twilight Valkyrie!
I took a whole lot of (subconscious) inspiration from chaos-themed Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters, such as Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, BLS - Envoy of the Evening Twilight, Tethys, Goddess of Light, and several others.
I have always been fascinated with the concept of perfect asymmetry, that splits a being completely between light and darkness, or any other similarly conflicting powers or phenomena. I have attempted several such MOC's in the past, such as Darklight Paladin and Draxx, Return of the Magnetomenace. I have also created an LDD collab with TheOneVeyronian depicting this concept as a chess game.
So there you have it! I hope you guys have enjoyed looking at this MOC, thanks in advance for likes/comments, and stay tuned for some more pics coming soon! Happy Holidays!
Macro Mondays Theme : Balance
Double Balance: Balancing a travel chess game on a cork and in chess the queen's value is 10 and a rook's value is 5. So two rooks equal the value of one queen.
Share a game. Chess board, hand crafted by my father. I took a very similar photo a couple of years ago and liked how it turned out, I'd been meaning to re do it for a while and improve on a few bits. Focus stack of 5 photographs
Do you think before you make a move?
Do you think before you take a picture?
My friend always tells me. Don't think. Just shoot by instinct. Or you will miss the moment. I still can't help thinking. May be thinking is part of my instinct.
I think about why do I want to take the picture? What is the visual meaning in the scene? Do I have the light? I try to have my answers before the shoot. I am always slow in picture taking and that is for sure.
Have a great weekend!
Do't think and just enjoy the weekend!

Macro Monday theme: GamesOrGamePieces
Chess players from a chess set depicting the conflict between Muslims and Catholics in Spain about 600 years ago.
I positioned the two most powerful pieces hiding behind the two weakest pieces. Consistent with many conflicts today those in power will sacrifice weaker players to achieve their personal goals.
I choose black and white over color to represent that regardless what side of a conflict you are on, there really isn't much difference between all of us.

13 million visits in my photostream with countless motivating comments
While a snowstorm in the mountains, we were playing chess in the motel room and waiting for the weather to change. And I took the photogrpah showing my firend and his daughter, in the framed picture, resting on the coffe table, as a comparison to the image seen here...
Many years after, I am very happy we could duplicate the final position of that game on the same little chess board to continue the game after a pause of over twenty years after, with my friends around...
We can call it a long game... :)
I also can call that a long and beautiful friendship.
