Cherry Blossoms have started in Vancouver! So many beautiful streets lined with beautiful pink flowers
Vancouver, BC, Canada
This one was from a old established tree on the property back in 1998 originally this tree was near the shed . half of it died due to sun light being choked out by the Norway maple .
year after year the main leaders died off . but i wanted this tree
as it produced very sweet cherries . so i cut the dead off
and transplanted to this location, After transplanting it never
had a single cherry these are mostly sucker growth
allowed to grow but slowly the flowers are becoming more abundant , however winter moth and now tent caterpillars
have devoured the leaves for the past four years .
This season will be interesting as even with the on off cold hot weather all of the pollinators at the moment consist of one type of sweat bee and carpenter bee's not one honey bee seen at all.
We rented a Cherry tree in Kent for a year for £35 and we have today picked 26pounds of Cherries! www.rentacherrytree.co.uk/
Cherries and an ultimate Valrhona dark chocolate brownies decadently chocolatey, not too sweet, a light crust without and beautifully moist within with enough salt to cut through the richness. An easy clap.
