Cherry sage is the common name for Salvia microphilla, Salvia greggii, and Salvia х jamensis (a hybrid between S. microphilla and S. greggii).

每年四月初是華盛頓特區 (Washington DC) 觀光的熱季。不單單因為天氣變暖適合出遊，也因為遍地開花， 整座城像淹沒在花海裏。最出名的是櫻花，來自日本，東京在1912年送了三千株櫻花給華盛頓， 大部分被種在西南角潮汐池（Tidal Basin）的周圍，以及緊臨的East Potomac Park。 數量最多的吉野櫻和台灣常見的品種不太一樣，顏色是白裏透著淡淡粉紅，在不同角度不同光線下會有微妙變化的色澤。 花只是單瓣，但盛開時整棵樹整片綻放，臨水映花，像沒有明天般燃燒生命。
