So last Friday I had to go in to the store for some batteries. These two guys were on the corner with their dogs. I drove by them and parked and went in to the store and wanted to go back out to see them. I know, people tell me not to give them money. But you know what?... I do - a couple bucks. I first noticed when I went back that these two weren't together anymore. I approached the one with glasses first and asked where his friend was. He had gone to another corner. I spent time with each of them, asked about their dogs, their names, asked what their story was. This guy with the small dog (Cheech) was trying to get to California and he told me why. The guy with the lab (Sandy) was trying to get to Georgia and he told me more details. Who knows if they were telling me the truth. I'd like to believe they were. After I talked to them and pet their dogs, I gave them each a couple dollars and I wished them well. I hope they used it for food or traveling.... If not, my main reason for approaching them was just to acknowledge them. Isn't that what we all want, acknowledgement that we are important? I know I feel that way, so I hope I can convey that to others (that a lot of people just pass by) that they are important.

Here's a 9 image Stitched Panoramic Photo I created from the 2009 Pear Fair.
My wife attended this one, but she got amazing pics as Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong discussed their new graphic novel, “Back in Smoke.” Both reminisced about their long comedy careers (I loved their records as a kid) and Cheech mentioned his “Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Arts," opening this June in Riverside, California. Far out, maaaan…

Have had a few busy days, will get back to your streams shortly, guys :)

About Up In Smoke
In UP IN SMOKE Cheech and Chong play wannabe musicians and stoners who unwittingly smuggle a van made of marijuana from Mexico to L.A. Their drug-laced humor keeps their spirits high as they unknowingly elude the police and meander their way to an outrageous finale at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood where Cheech performs in a pink tutu and Chong plays drums in a red body suit with a Quaalude logo.

These guys were giving Cheech & Chong a run for their money!
But honestly, I could do without the musical Tim And Eric act. That diluted the quality of the show for me. They weren't even playing songs from the show, so it's not like I knew them. Just music I haven't heard before, which is always boring to me.

BACKSTORY: Tim And Eric did another live comedy show! Seeing these comedy gods in person is awesome -- but this tour wasn't nearly as funny as the last one! What happened, guys??!?

I tried to do a camera toss today. I used a little point and shoot with a timer. The timer was tricky, and no matter how long I waited, the camera would take a picture just as it was reaching back for me to catch it.
I was laying on my back with the lens pointed at myself. I pushed the shutter half way to focus and then pressed the shutter button with the timer. When this happens a light comes on to know it is counting down and then the camera beeps a few times slowly and then a few times rapidly before snapping the shot.
I tried throwing the camera at the point of rapid beeps, but could not throw it very high from my back I guess. There were quite a few shots of the ceiling too.
If someone had told me in 1974 that the Smithsonian would be exhibiting Cheech and Chong albums in the furure, I would have peed myself laughing. Just saying.

Yes. It's a little bit cute.

Buff (Cheech) really loves getting in the box with the tiny puppy. I especially love how his tail is wrapped around the puppy.
