Actually these are apple wood sticks and Midnight was chewing on them.
This is from last year. Posting it for ChinchillaVilla and her TGR. Took me two days to find this photo. My files are a mess. I took the opportunity to clean them out while I searched.

Los Cochinos is the title of this 1973 record album made by the comedy duo of Richard "Cheech" Marin and Tommy Chong. Marin, a Mexican American, and Chong, a Canadian, first teamed in 1970 as a stand-up comedy act, performing at The Shanghai Junk, Chong's Vancouver nightclub. Their routines, which drew on the rebellious counterculture attitudes and drug culture movements of the 1960s and 1970s propelled them toward further successes on albums and in the movies. cochino is a derogatory way of referring to a pig in Spanish.
Thanks for the Memories: Music, Sports and Entertainment History, an ongoing exhibition rotates a display of iconic and well-loved artifacts that mirror the ways music, sports and entertainment have played major roles in U.S. life, shaping our national memory and often defining what is American to the nation and the world.
The National Museum of American History (NMAH), administered by the Smithsonian Institute, collects, preserves and displays American heritage in the areas of social, political, cultural, scientific and military history. The museum, which first opened in 1964 as the Museum of History and Technology, is located on the National Mall in one of the last structures designed by McKim, Mead & White. It was renamed in 1980, and closed for a 2-year, $85 milliomn renovation by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP from 2006 to 2008.
The Smithsonian Institution, an educational and research institute and associated museum complex, administered and funded by the government of the United States and by funds from its endowment, contributions, and profits from its shops and its magazines, was established in 1846. Although concentrated in Washington DC, its collection of over 136 million items is spread through 19 museums, a zoo, and nine research centers from New York to Panama.

apparently when a boyfriend with a dog moved in Cheech moved out - to the landscaping of the million gallon tank, where he was being cared for and loved by the neighborhood
for a while he was missing, apparently adopted by someone, causing quite a stir - see photos below in comments

My review of seeing Cheech & Chong perform is at clintjcl.wordpress.com/2008/09/14/journal-comedy-stand-up... ... But I'll copy it here for ease:
It was decent. The binoculars REALLY helped, since we were in the very last row. Chong's hot older wife opened. We left late (6:45PM and they start seating at 6:30PM for a 7:00PM show). I spoon fed Carolyn her dinner as she drove, since we were in mid-meal when we realized we had to get the hell out of here--and fast! We didn't miss anything and even managed to snag a drink at the bar.
And it sucks that they made Chong serve 9 months in jail! Remember, kids: Our country imprisons at the highest rate of any country on the planet. By some strict interpretations, that might mean it's the least free country. Anyway -- their description of the bust was pretty funny. "Do you have any drugs in the house?" "Uhh, I'm Tommy Chong, what do you think?"
Other than that, they didn't really do anything new -- just slightly modernized variations of their standard acts and songs. Cheech has no mustache. Their humor is most certainly not edgy -- or even in the top tier of funniness. However, they are cultural icons -- and must be worshipped as such.
Anyway, it was good to go.

About Up In Smoke
In UP IN SMOKE Cheech and Chong play wannabe musicians and stoners who unwittingly smuggle a van made of marijuana from Mexico to L.A. Their drug-laced humor keeps their spirits high as they unknowingly elude the police and meander their way to an outrageous finale at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood where Cheech performs in a pink tutu and Chong plays drums in a red body suit with a Quaalude logo.

Buff (aka Cheech) really loves his little puppy friend! Here he is at 6 days old, getting fatter by the day!
Note: Cheech and Chong's 1972 "Big Bambu" album came with a giant rolling paper in the cover. This was the resulting doobie.
The lawyers for Cheech and Chong should be perking up their ears at this flagrant copyright infringement and potential lawsuit.
