A home energy checkup is a great way to save money on energy costs while improving the comfort and efficiency of your home. This simple action can help you reduce your energy usage and recommend home improvements and routines that can enhance your home and put money in your pocket.
In this photo set, Peter Waring from Healthier Dwelling did a full home energy assessment, checking our house for leaks. It appears we have a lot leaks, which will require us to seal our home, to reduce our overall energy consumption and carbon emissions. Stay tuned for more developments on this front.
This is just one of the climate actions we are taking this year, to make a green change in our lives: switching to 100% renewable electricity, getting an electric vehicle, biking more often, canceling long flights, converting gas appliances to electric and eating a plant-rich diet.
In just six months, we have reduced our carbon footprint by half, and we hope to reach zero emissions by the end of next year. This is just one of the ways we are trying to help solve the climate crisis. Besides taking action in our own lives, I have also started Green Change, our new climate action network in Marin, to help others go green with us.

How Optometrists Can Help You?
Optometrists examine eyes for both vision and health problems by performing either paid or free eye tests. They help you to correct refractive errors by prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses. Further, some optometrists also provide low vision care and vision therapy.
Facts & Figures:
The UK has over 14,000 optometrists and more than 6000 dispensing opticians.
An average of 48 percent of European citizens wear spectacles as in 2017.
In the United Kingdom and Ireland, the market value of contact lenses increased to over 220 million British pounds in the last 3 years.
In the United Kingdom it is recommended that individuals receive an eye test every two years, or earlier if there are any problems.
Study shows that 49.8 % of the world’s population will require glasses by 2050.
A regular eye checkup is very essential not only for people with poor vision but also for people who want healthy eyes. As eye conditions, like glaucoma and even diabetes, can be prevented or controlled if it’s detected early.

We have a dilemma with Guy. He's OK, it was just a regular checkup. We also went to the vet's because Guy has been waking up in the middle of the night and whining. We're not sure if he has pain issues. He's fine during the day, he's just not sleeping through the night. We think it might be his teeth? Maybe they're giving him pain? He's eating fine, his breath is bad, but not REALLY BAD. They are really crusty, he has plaque issues.
They're doing some blood tests. She was hesitant to schedule for teeth removals. She said he's really old and could have issues coming out of anesthesia. She's also concerned about pulling his K9's... she said there's a chance it might fracture his mandible?
Ugg! He's 16 now, mostly healthy... he has joint issues and is mostly deaf. But no major issues that we know of. I don't know if we should go through the teeth removal and risk complications. We also don't know if his bad teeth are causing him pain. I wish he could talk...
He might not have his snaggle tooth soon. :(

Sandy had a Sunday checkup appointment at Banfield Pet Hospital near Patrick Henry Mall so we decided to return to Newport News Park Campground for another weekend stay. While westbound on Jefferson Avenue heading towards the Campground, I saw this huge American flag fling at a Chevrolet dealership while stopped at a red light at J. Clyde Morris Boulevard.
