Yesterday our cats had their annual health check and shots. Our vet Gitte has taken care of this for many years now - and although Bastian is a bit overweight, she rewarded him with a few delicious treats for being such a good boy...

Our foster kitten two years ago, but it's funny how their mom Okotta looks so like our current foster mom Itami

Burros are one of the attractions at Custer State Park. They are feral donkeys, descendants of pack animals. Normally they roam free, but, like bison, they are periodically rounded up for medical checkups and who knows what else. A busful of nuns came by while we were there. It was such a cute moment, the nuns were so excited to see and interact with the burros.

September lymphoma awareness month, the ribbon is the color of my Japanese Hinoki,

Finally I posted for Lymphoma, Obviously I am partial to this,

14 years since my enlarged spleen, 5 years in remission with all my numbers normal, had my checkup Monday,

From the start my attitude played big role for me as it did for my triple Bypass, going to work every day and still can fly:-)

Please be aware and care by giving to your local Charities.

Out of the five Hinoki trees I got 4 doing fine and this is the masterpiece by the pond,

The Butterfly is newborn from the Butterfly garden.

That makes me happy.

Please see the link to see the Hinoki from the roof,

Yes, the Dragon had a vet visited today. I had made the appointment weeks ago, originally for Tofu's annual vaccination. Unfortunately he developed a flare-up of his gastritis last weekend and therefore had a checkup and blood test instead. The vaccination was cancelled and we returned home with some meds which he'll have to take for the next 10 days. Tofu behaved perfectly at the vet's. He is always a good patient but a horrible co-driver ...

Dr. Hoefer is Zuzu's Vet since she was a baby,

took here yesterday for a checkup and her shots,

she has been plucking her feathers for 2 years now,

it's a hormonal thing the Dr. said.

My dentist's office displays artwork in each of the exam rooms. They consist of a single painting on the wall facing the patient. Mostly abstract and of little interest to me. One room however has a wonderfully detailed scene of quaint houses on a quiet back street. The setting is early evening and the artist did a remarkable job of conveying the moodiness of the twilight hour. There are lights on inside the homes, and smoke rising languidly from the chimneys. There's a cat out on someone's front porch. It's quite an immersive scene for me. It puts me at ease and takes my mind off of the clinical setting. I have a weird habit of imagining myself into scenes like this; of somehow interacting with the place that exists only in two dimensions. I would like to walk the cold village streets; smell the chimney smoke. Maybe pet the cat. It's always a disappointment when they put me into a different room and I don't get to experience that painting.

There are places in my real world that speak to me like that painting. Sometimes the reasons are obvious. But often I have no clue. It's really just a feeling. This is one of those places. I often pause here when riding my bicycle. It sits on the boundary between woodland and open meadow. This is high ground and it's always windy here. Everything is parched, bleached and drab this time of year. But that only adds to the attraction. Like the dentist's painting, it pulls me in every time.

My husband’s 3 year cancer checkup - still cancer free! He had stage 3 Lymphoma all through him. He couldn’t walk, his voice was faint, and he had lost 70 pounds by the time the chemotherapy started. He had six regular chemo treatments, and three week long stays for brain chemo treatments in the hospital. Staph infection from hospital iv, so 2 and a half weeks of daily visits to the drip center to get rid of that infection, and had to have his lungs drained. The Lord was with us as we went through it all. He gave us our sense of humor in times of pain. We thought The Lord was going to take him home in the beginning. Richard is a walking miracle. We are here to share of the Lord’s goodness and mercy! I pray if you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, that you ask Him to make himself known to you in faith. I gave Him my heart at 11 years old and He has blessed my life! People may let you down, but the Lord never will!❤️

Had to run my friend early to the hospital for her checkup from wrist surgery (one plate and 5 screws) coming along good. But the sunrise was gorgeous so we stopped to get a picture. A nippy 9* too!!!

Poor Millie is unhappy about her visit to see the vet for her yearly checkup. (Note the "airplane ears"!)

Millie is relaxing after her annual checkup at the vet's office. The doctor says Millie is a very healthy kitty!

The EJ&E 657 had a 10am checkup appointment with the Hulcher Doctor today in Waterloo. 5 new traction motors will be installed under the old girl due to some of the wheels being hit by the wheel impact detector. Waterloo Roundhouse doesn't have facilities to lift units, so the CN has Hulcher shows up and do it. Here the group works on getting the traction motor #4 in the rear truck as the Cedar River boys are inbound into Waterloo off the Osage Sub. I watched these guys work for about 3 hours while I switched out my inbound 337 train. They are a gifted group.

9th May 2022 :

Our dead battery collection is multiplying. Sadly neither of our local supermarkets have a battery bank and neither does the main out of town one that we use the most.

Work and family have kept me off the winged subjects chase, hence the heavy dose of archived work and infrequent posting. My 600 f4 went to Nikon for a checkup. after calibration, clear improvement- the is straight out of the camera, just cropped slightly.

Hannah said Sarah looked like a pirate when she saw her like this!

Both girls are doing fine and go to the doctor for a checkup tomorrow.

(Very busy day for me . . . if I faved you without leaving a comment, it is because you are a favorite person of mine and I admire your work.)

Time for a checkup...

Yesterday Bastian had his annual check up and vaccination. Our vet likes him a lot, but advised to cut down on the food. Bastian did not agree... ;)

Gracie has been to the vet for her annual checkup (Millie, too). No problems with Millie, but blood tests reveal that Gracie has an overactive thyroid gland. She has lost a good bit of weight in recent months despite having a hearty appetite. So now we have to give her methimazole tablets every 12 hours. We'll try hiding it in some tuna (she loves tuna) to see if we can give her the tablets that way. We start the medication tonight at 9 p.m. Wish us good luck!

... malgré un tracé ECG légèrement tourmenté (du à son émotivité) et un sommeil souvent plus proche du coma dépassé que de la simple sieste ... l'état de santé de Pixel est excellent ...

After a few days with computer problems and a couple of days off for a routine medical checkup procedure (everything is fine) I'll be posting regularly again.

I'm in random mode for a while. That means looking through images every morning until I see one that I feel like posting.

Must not complain, I suppose I should think myself lucky that I can take walks into the countryside really as I please! Walking is part of my treatment, along with medication, diet and three monthy checkups including scans and blood tests, but walking is the best thing for me. When my Consultant told me I had to retire due to health issues it hit me like a brick. My life up until that point was work, however when I was told to exersise and keep exersising things didn't seem so bad and once the routine kicked in, all was good in the world apart from the interuption of the check ups and forced abstanance, love beer! This is another Autumn walk then, Faversham to South Dunkirk and back, this time without my walking partner, Max, he to is feeling his age....

Not the Robin, the D850+1.4+500PF. I'd sent them off a bit over 3 weeks ago to Nikon for a checkup/optimization. Nikon lost my kit, all of it! But finally found and processed and now back home.

Vet visit for these two today, check up etc and Evie has a small lump on lower eyelid which I wanted checking out, nothing sinister, wart type thing and leave alone unless it grows.

Olive was mental, think The Pointer Sisters song "I'm so exited" lol. Nothing as bad as a spaniel waiting nearby, zoomies and spinning like a loon 😂

Weighed in at 6.7kg for Olive and 24.kg for Evie, she's lost a few pounds since Olive arrived 😂 both fit and healthy 😊

They got treats off reception staff and came home 😊

Well my YAG procedure yesterday in my opinion (not that I am an ophthalmologist) seems to have gone very well. It's like, as many described to me "looking through super clean glasses".

I will go back in one month for a checkup. Right now I have a regime of eye drops again 3x day for 7 days in each eye and they sting like all get out. But, it's a small price to pay to be able to see.

I want to thank each and everyone who took the time to visit my little space here on Flickr. Have a super day!

Today Purrcy will visit my vet for a complete checkup and I can't wait for all the people there to meet him...

Since going three times a week with Buster, they are now like family to us!!

Do birds even have tonsils? Probably not. Those of you who want to check: view this one in large ;-)

There are weeks which can't be over soon enough and it has been one of those weeks for Cleo. I have been worried about her health lately. She has been awfully tired and she has lost weight. The weight loss is something that is desperately required but it came too quickly and the fat reduction took place in areas where it's usually not a good sign. On Monday she had a blood test which didn't show anything abnormal. The vet then recommended a complete checkup via ultrasound and X-ray and and that's why today she had to spend the whole morning at the vet. Apparently she was a model patient which is absolutely unusal for her. The good news is that they didn't find any tumors. The bad news is that her kidneys are smaller than usual (although her renal values have improved) and she has a fatty liver (which for the moment isn't life threating but has to be monitored). The liver issue is most likely a result of her overweight but paradoxically it would quickly get life threatening if we intensified her diet or if she stopped eating completely. For now we treat her kidney and liver issues homeopathically, It is possible that the treatment for her kidneys which has been going on for several weeks now, has triggered the weight loss because it may have stimulated her usually rather sluggish metabolism. The hope is now that we can achieve a controlled weight loss which would not only help her liver but also reduce her arthritis problem. Wish us luck !
